En savoir plus sur l'auteur

Randy Wilson was not born Randy Wilson; he was born Randall Scott Crossett. In his teenage years, he learned from his father, that the family name was originally spelled with an, "e" on the end Crossette. Randy has always been a little, shall we say, on the fringes of normal life and so. to distinguish himself, Randy put the, "e" back, on the end of his name. And became, Randall S Crossette or as his friends knew him just, "Randy." He left home at 17 and began supporting himself; first working at a McDonalds and other various typical places young people get jobs but Randy was always, eventually fired, from every job he ever had, pretty much. It would be years before they had a name for it and anyone knew what to call Randy, officially but Randy suffered from what they now call, "A Personality Disorder." He suffered with terrible bouts of Depression, sometimes for weeks at a time but then he would always bounce back and be the happy, wildly creative and talented and willing to try just about anything, Randy that everyone knew and loved.

Randy discovered, at a very young age, that he had a gift for writing. He enjoyed poetry, from his very youngest days and use to bring home poems he had written in elementary school. When Randy was about 8 years old, he saw a neighborhood boy playing piano in his garage and Randy was Jealous of all the attention the boy was getting from the girls. To make a long story short, Randy went home and learned to play the piano by ear and continued playing for years and years.

When he was in his 20's, he wrote a poem called, "Memory of Love." To his utter shock and amazement, when he sat down at a piano, he pulled out the poem and discovered he had another talent; he could literally play the poem. He could not read music but he could read words and translate them into music and he could do it almost, like magic! That was about 1970 when this all took place and from that day forward, Randy didn't just write poems but he often would write both the poem and the music that went with it.

Randy had a friend, up in Alturas, California, by the name of John Hawkins who knew Randy wrote and played and one day John, got brave enough to show Randy, something he had written. Randy sat down and played it for him. The poem/song is known today by it's title, "The Mountain" and you can hear it at the following link:

http://www.lifeaccordingtorandy.com/The%20Mountain%20view.html

Randy has traveled extensively, including not just around the United States, but to the Dominican Republic and all over Europe, including such places as England, Scotland, Whales, Italy, France, Switzerland etc. He is now retired, living pretty much off the grid, in a remote Island of the Philippines, where he lives a simple, quiet life alone, where he continuing to write and Publish.

The many places Randy has lived and visited, provides constant inspiration for new writings. Randy has a large collection of children's books he is making ready for publication but much of his poetry, often speaks of the darker side of life as well. He has commented on everything from Greed and War, to Politics. His book series, "Life According To Randy," uses both Poetry and pictures, to document his extraordinary life and his many adventures.

His writings are often, like this bio; very personal and open and many have been known to cry, upon reading some of the stories, from his life. Whether it's in song Lyric or Poetry, it can cut right to your heart. Randy has a talent for saying things, in a way that millions around the world, have been able to relate to and enjoy.

Read this book before you buy anything on Amazon!

This is obviously an Internet Marketing tool that some guru has foisted on gullible entrepreneurs once again. The reason Amazon doesn't slap them (yet) is because it hasn't cost them any money. The last slap at the Public Domain publishers was a long time coming. Be patient. Having to refund an $1800.00 book a few times will cause Amazon to reassess it's complicity in this practice.

Until then, watch where you click.

Basically the author is disgruntled about the price differently between what an author sells a Create Space bound book for and how third party sellers significantly increase the price of the book. You've got to ask yourself why would anyone would buy a printed book at such inflated prices. Are they just stupid or is something else going on?

The answer was provided by an acquaintance who ran a successful audiobook rental company that shipped all over the world. Turns out there were only a few white listed countries that he would ship without worry. Some he wouldn't ship to other countries ever! And there were a few countries that he would ship to, but had to charge more than the normal rate because the shipment sometimes made it to the customer and sometimes didn't.

Which brings us to why Amazon has different venues for selling the same book. If you're selling either a Kindle or Create Space book you already know that just listing the publication in the U.S. does not automatically make it available in other parts of the world. It's also why if you're in the U.S. and purchase the book to send to a relative deep in the Congo, you'll need to buy from one of the third party vendors who will ship to that distant location. I suspect that is why there are several third party vendors with varying prices--they probably ship to some countries and not others. (Maybe there's someone reading this who can provide further explanation.)

This booklet is a description of a practice done through Amazon.com by scammers to make some money. The booklet describes on certain people sell Amazon.com products from Amazon at higher prices then the company does and can get away with it. So think twice before buying from the used book store section on Amazon.

I downloaded this book to my Kindle App on a day that it was available free because I was curious about what the author had to say. He's basically taken something that happens everyday on Amazon, and on MANY similar sites, and made a huge case out of how wrong it is that someone is enterprising enough to actually make money off of the author's own back. The author fails to realize two things:

*He could do the same thing he claims "scammers" are doing and make even more money from his own work.

*Most people find things on Amazon exactly the way he found this so called "scam" (most would call it free enterprise). They search a topic and they're presented with a list of items that fit their search. When they click on something, they're presented with a description with "New" items getting top billing. Even when they wander off into the "Used" tab, they can see a tab for "new" items that may be available. If they want to go on and pay more for something that isn't "new", that's their prerogative. Only a fool or someone with money to burn would make the mistake of buying the same product for more money. Regardless, if someone buys this way, the author makes money, the so called "scammer" makes money and Amazon makes money.

This is not a scam at all. - It's free enterprise at it's finest.
