Présentation de l'éditeur

Aneka Jansen, born on Earth in the twentieth century seems to have been revived after a thousand years of relative peace only to find herself in the middle of a war. As the Herosians manoeuver themselves into a better position for victory, their actions hidden behind subterfuge and high technology, there seems to be little anyone can do to stop the coming war.

But a sudden revelation will plunge Aneka and Ella deep into the conflict while their friends fight for their lives amid a war of giant starships and planet-smashing weapons.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 My least favorite of the series 20 avril 2014

Honestly, Teasdale's work has become something of a guilty pleasure for me, as it consists of not-quite-erotica of a sapphic bent combined with some genuinely intriguing sci-fi (or sometimes fantasy) babble. This book was a little more serious and had a lot of promise, but then it turned into a mess about two-thirds of the way through when the author started bouncing from one character's perspective to another like a kangaroo on crystal meth. The read can go for a long time without hearing anything from Aneka or Ella while the author provides a paragraph (or sometimes a page) from the perspective of one of the many, many random secondary characters that have been introduced in the last several books. It's so disjointed and spastic that it actually got annoying to read until you get to a random and kind of anti-climactic conclusion. I think the author needs to stop going back to the "Xinti AI" well quite so often. If there is another book in the series, this one won't have been enough to completely turn me away from it, but two of these in a row would spell doom for the series.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Aneka with the big... 24 avril 2014

The first three books in this series were pretty good with a story line that was different and interesting. This is the fourth book and is sort of an add on. The plot picks up where the third book left off. I was not expecting it to come out. In any case it is not as good as the last three and it ends abruptly without covering all the loose ends. I would not recommend it unless you just want to meet Aneka again.

Well then I have ploughed through yet another book about Aneka, and Whitley the allure has died Downs a bit it is still a very good read. If you are new to this series start with the first book, and yes there will be bit of graphic sex in them but that will lessen (good or bad depends on your point of view) as the series progress!
All in all a nice enough follow up on the other book's.

Aside from the constant sex, which gets rather tiresome at times, the story is quite well done, along with the first three books.Character development, dialogue, internal thoughts, war planning and execution, trans-humans,plot twists and surprises; really enjoy the work the author is doing in this series. Hopefully it will continue with many more adventures in the offing among AIs and other sentient creatures.

Other folks will tell you the plot and all that, I'm just going to let you know that I have read all of these books and highly recommend this one as well. the first review I read indicated that the author had lost his focus and was jumping all over the place like some rodent with ADD. The author does indeed switch away from Ella and Aneka many times during the conclusion of the story. Not a bad thing, he is doing this to show us what is happening to his most pivotal characters who are at that point widely dispersed about the galaxy. I did think the ending was a touch weak, but if you didn't see that ending coming, there was plenty of foreshadowing, then you aren't paying much attention. The exact mechanics of the conclusion, well you will have to read the book won't you? Thank you Niall. Looking forward to the next installment. Well done. Niall amazingly enough writes the best sex I've read in scifi ever.
