For me, being raised in the south, I grew up on the old standby regular orange peoke Lipton Tea and drank it all year round. We always put lots of white sugar into it for a sweet taste.
Enter 2014 and times have changed! Now I am avoiding white sugar and want a healthier tea. So I decided to learn more about Green Tea. Went to my local market and purchased some Lipton Green Tea and at first did not like it. So then I found this very helpful and inspiring book about Green Tea. This is what I needed to get me to take out the almost full box of Green Tea out of my cupboard!
Here is what I have discovered so far:

+ Brewing Green Tea correctly - Chapter 3 tells the different types of Green Tea, where they came from and how to brew. It also has a section on where to buy Green Tea! It also recommends a tea ball and fresh leaves vs tea bags. Since I have so many tea bags about 90 left, I will use them and off to the Health Food store and purchase a tea ball and proper loose green tea for better results.

+ Chapter after this explains the health benefits and there are many!

***This book has truly inspired me to drink more Green Tea! This is a MUST READ for your health, I highly recommend it to you!

The content had information about the benefits of green teas without too much 'blinding with science'. I appreciated the suggestions of how to cook with green tea. In my experience it took a while to get used to the taste so sneaking it into food is a good way to get the benefits without the resistance.

I learned many things from this book. It was well researched, organized and helpful.
From the tea making process to its health benefits this book thoroughly examines all components of greem tea.

Although there was good information buried in this little book, apparently there wasn't enough information to justify more than a paper or brochure. There was a lot of filler...many "bunny trails" that were off-track of green tea specifically. For instance, the section on weight loss was mainly on how to lose weight generally--diet, exercise, etc. I did learn that green tea boosts the metabolism. Often, the same information was repeated many times in different sections of the book. The subject of caffeine in green tea was mentioned countless times throughout.
