Présentation de l'éditeur

Greyson Cole needs to get out of Raleigh. Everywhere he turns, he sees people falling in love, getting married and starting families. It’s enough to make a grown man want to rip out his own hair. And for a cynic like Grey, one more employee getting engaged signals the need for a long overdue vacation. Grey owns a cabin in the mountains he has never even used, and he figures that’s just the ticket out of this nightmare of happily paired-up couples.

Grey doesn’t expect to be greeted by a belligerent, half-naked man the minute he opens his cabin door.

Sirus Wilder has known Grey’s twin sister for years, and she has given him permission to stay in the cabin while his residence across the lake is under repair. Sirus has never met Greyson Cole before, but he is thankful when the man lets him share the cabin for a few days. There is plenty enough room for them each to keep to themselves. Sirus has had his heart broken and isn’t interested in a hook-up, let alone something more.

Even so, Grey is, hands-down, one of the sexiest men Sirus has ever seen. Too bad he’s an arrogant ass and his eyes are so damn cold. Every once in a while, though, Sirus thinks he sees a hint of fiery passion in the controlled man sleeping one room away.

For Grey, one look at the roughly handsome Sirus puts Grey’s celibacy pact in serious jeopardy. One problem: Grey doesn’t believe in love, has even less patience for relationships, and he refuses to get mixed up in another messy romantic partnership that can only end badly.

Two weeks. Two hard men. Both running like hell from love.

Look out. Something’s gotta give.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Such raw emotions and sizzling passion! 13 septembre 2009
Par R.Parklane - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle
After reading so many M/Ms I find myself skipping the ones with too much sex. But now I realize that it is not that I am bored with the M/M sex. It is because it has been a long time since I read really hot erotic ones. And this is what I get in Grey's Awakening.
Aside from the well written erotic scenes I love the raw passion this writer injects into her story be it during sex or in the simple exchange of words between her 2 fully clothed guys. The intensity in these 2 guys chemisty has me glued to the story. I could not believe that I actually hold my breath during their heated, tense and yet passionate interaction. Grey and Sirus are really hot hunks, their characters solid and very well developed. They do not merely exist in the present enfolding story. Each man has his own interesting story and in Grey's case, a touching background, which makes him who he is today. Grey is so bottled up that one wonders what will happen if he eventually explodes. You just have to hope he will somehow break down the protective barrier he has build around himself and opens up to Sirus as he certainly deserves to love and be loved. Then there is Sirus who is such a sensitive and vulnerable guy. You just have to love a hunk who drives a truck and does not care if his art could make him a rich man. Sirus' one scene with his homophobic mother is one absorbing read. The raw and deep emotions in the story and the intense passion between these two men simply holds me till the last page. And I look forward to more from this writer!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Grey's Awakening-A Joyfully Recommened Title!! 22 janvier 2010
Par M. Nix - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle
Greyson Cole is going to kill his sister. All Grey wants to do is escape Raleigh and the pandemic of love and romance which has spread through it. With that thought in mind, Grey heads to his cabin to spend two weeks in solitude, only to be confronted by over six feet of dripping wet, nearly naked male. According to the stranger, Grey's twin, Kelsie, lent him the use of Grey's cabin while his own was being repaired. And said stranger, Sirus Wilder, is definitely Not. Grey's. Type. Grey will keep repeating that to himself until he believes it. Grey doesn't do relationships, and no amount of lusting for the gorgeous, intelligent Sirus is going to change that.

Sirus adores Kelsie; her twin is another matter entirely. Sirus is grateful Grey lets him stay in the cabin while the plumbing is fixed on his own, but Grey has to be the coldest, most withdrawn person he has ever met. Yet there's something about Grey, flashes of vulnerability which draw him to the seemingly aloof stranger. Sirus has been burned by love in the past and doesn't want to risk his heart again, especially by falling for a man who flat-out tells him he doesn't have the ability to love.

When the desire for one another becomes too tempting to resist, Grey and Sirus agree to embark on a two week affair with no strings attached. Too bad for them love has other plans. Grey and Sirus are about to find out that sometimes destiny takes charge and gives you a chance at happiness you never could have imagined; you just have to be brave enough to take it.

Grey's Awakening is like a thunderstorm - powerful, glorious, and seemingly alive with raw emotion. Cameron Dane has written an enthralling story that no words can do justice to (though I will try) with two heroes that will wrap themselves around your heart and not let go.

Sirus is a romantic at heart, which was utterly lovely to see from such a strong, powerful male. His willingness to put himself out there, even in the face of past hurts, makes him the perfect match for Grey. And no man needs an open, accepting heart to love him more than Grey. For all his controlled demeanor, Grey is a tumultuous blend of old wounds, fear, and hesitant hope. With his cool confidence at the forefront, even I, a reader who got to see the inner workings of Grey's mind, found myself sucker-punched by the pain in Grey's past. He broke my heart, but his healing, opening up, and falling in love put it back together again. Their love story was as touching as is it was spellbindingly erotic.

While Grey's Awakening is the second book in the Cabin Fever series, it does stand on its own. Kelsie and John (Grey's sister and best friend) of The Sweetest Tattoo do make a brief appearance in Grey's Awakening and fans of the first story will remember Sirus having a cameo in that tale. Neither book should be missed, for Cameron Dane is a wonderfully talented writer whose stories are as unique and diverse as the characters in them. And since I cannot say more about Grey's Awakening without overtly gushing, I will leave with saying that I Joyfully Recommend this incredible book!

1.0 étoiles sur 5 This should come with a purple prose warning... Or maybe just one about all the rectal action you'll be getting. 21 février 2014
Par JC - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle|Achat vérifié
Actually, it goes so beyond purple in some parts it can be classified a whole other color... But I understand that readers all have different tastes, so below is something that didn't work for me but might work for others.

"No. I won’t let myself fall for the wrong man again. Closing his eyes to ward off the swell of emotion trying to take him over, Sirus picked up the pace and rammed himself up and down on Grey’s erection, wincing but loving the roughness consuming his sensitized anus, grasping for sensations that were purely physical and nothing more. Whipping his hips back and forth and side to side, Sirus grunted at the almost painful widening of his tender channel, but he couldn’t stop."

Another sample....
"Sirus found a steady, darkly wonderful rhythm, one that had his rectum sending shivery tentacles of awareness up his back and down his legs,"

This was the first book I'd ever bought by this author and holy God, I've never regretted buying a book as much as I do this one because it was just downright unreadable in some parts. It's basically porn without plot, but the length and the blurb made it seem like it would be so much more. The first sex scene occurs at roughly 19-20%, and they'd only known each other a couple days at that point. It's also bareback sex. In the rain. There's mud. And no lube.

There's a lot of sex scenes afterward, and I didn't find them hot, though this seems to be included in Listopia lists for 'hottest sex'.

Also, I have to say that having the word 'Rectum' and/or 'Anus' written repeatedly during sex scenes is just... the complete opposite of sexy. Just for the hell of it, I used search to see how many times 'rectum' appeared in this book. SEVENTEEN TIMES. That is one too many. I can't remember reading anything that used that word as excessively as this book. Some MM novels with explicit scenes manage to not use it at all. Except maybe in a medical setting, or a bad fanfic, but those were less glaring as I didn't pay more than $5 like I did for this ebook. I guess my first clue that this was not going to be what I expected was when I got to "Grey’s voice was harsh and forceful as he plunged and scissored his fingers with great enthusiasm in Sirus’s quivering channel". Scissored... Not a thing done by actual gay men but beloved by many fanfic authors for reasons Ive never figured out. My brain sort of shut down at that point, then started screaming at me to stop.

Anyway, I'm sorry I've fixated on the eyeball-searing sex scenes, but there's nothing else in this book if you strip away all the smut. :( Unfortunately neither of the main characters were likable enough to make me invested in what little actual romance was to be found in this book. I was misled by the blurb and the positive reviews this got on Goodreads.

This is not the book for you if you want plot, substance, actual romance or at the very least in the absence of some of those things, likable characters to carry the book. Also not for people who can't stand purple prose and the overuse of the words rectum, anus, 'channel' in sex scenes.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Not a bad read 19 décembre 2009

I thought the main characters were interesting, but I didn't learn enough about them. The sex was hot in places, but there needed to be less sex and more plot. The back-story for the characters had great potential, but it was shoved aside for marathon sex.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 In the land of cliches 9 janvier 2010
Par Terran - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle
From the moment two guys meet and fail to realize each other is gay, to the forced roommate aspect in a remote location, to the bedroom door being ajar and someone being caught in the act - to put it delicately - all the way through the cliche of middle-age coming out, and a mother whose world best be perfect at all times or else.... There are just too many cliches. Not a lot of characters, in fact just a tiny supporting cast, but what's there has been (over)used so often there is a distinct lack of originality here. But there is a saving grace to all this as the novel is well-written, too well-written to be stuck in this land of cliches, as the author has skill but can't be bothered with developing a new plot. So this one starts off implausibly, then it stays thay way through to the end, but it's that unreal romance that only exists in romance novels and films and bad TV shows, so every move is telegraphed ahead of time. It's like we've all been there, done that, because we've seen it played out so many times in exactly the same way. This one is also laden with sex scenes, as the lovers never communicate with each other (it's supposed to be a loose arrangement between them) until the very end, when of course they overdose on discussion.
