Finally, something that makes sense! 14 décembre 2013

I've been having trouble for a very long time with understanding how to play what i hear. While i can memorise the notes and their sequence, i'd always have trouble playing them in time and in the appropriate rhythm.

I had high hopes for this book as I know Chris Buono very well from his courses on TrueFire.TV. What Chris promised was delivered immediately!

I went through Chapter 1, 2 and 3, and played all the lessons as instructed. It felt like everything just fell into place, it felt easy and normal, which was unlike anything else i've ever read or seen on videos on guitar theory and rhythm notation.

So i had to put this knowledge to the test. I went back to a riff that i had found trouble in previously, and now i was able to count the notes in time, and when i practiced it on the metronome, it actually sounded like the original!

Guys, do yourself a favour and buy this book now!

Another master piece from a true master! 23 décembre 2013

To anyone who knows Chris, and to those who don't, Chris is one of those true gems who not only has the goods, in his case, A LOT OF GOODS, but Chris knows how to teach & share the goods!

He has an incredible gift/skill at being able to simply complex subject matter & put it into terms us mere mortals can understand.

If you've never read before, this is a great place to start, and if you have some reading skills, Chris' concepts will strip away the obstacles that have been in your path holding you back.

Within an hour or two, I was able to make connections of previously learned material, and allowed me to see music so much clearer & be able to connect my eyes & hands to unknown & shaky sections on the fretboard.

There no magic pill here. You have to work it, but Chris explains it in such a way, that you learn much, much easier & faster allowing you to have fun while learning it!

If Chris' methods were used in public schools, we'd have massive attendance in music schools across the nation! It's that good! Simple, direct, effective & fun!

The book I wish I was given when I first started to learn how to read 2 mai 2014
Par J.P. Doherty - Publié sur Amazon.com

This is the book I wish I was given when I first started to learn how to read. I learned how to read on guitar the hard way. I sat down with a book that kept me in first position, never explained the concept of moving up and down the neck to find a more comfortable position to play something, and generally seemed to tend towards the "you'll figure it out" mentality.

Chris Buono has given us all a great gift here. You will grow as a musician and a guitar player by checking this book out. Chris has a very interesting way of looking at the guitar neck that I find to be very enlightening. I went through the book from start to finish, and I wish that this had been my first introduction to sight-reading for the guitar.

Stick with this book and you will ALWAYS have a gig. I've played in a number of diverse settings; in ALL of those settings, my ability to read gave me great benefits and an ability to tackle anything that was put in front of me. Buy this book, buy a metronome if you don't have one, and dig in. You will be well rewarded for your efforts.

Trouble with Treble? 4 décembre 2013
Par Ted Pileggi - Publié sur Amazon.com

Wow! Are you having trouble with treble? Ha! This book is a godsend. Received this last week and already Im impressed with how clear and direct Mr Buono is in taking readers step by step thru the often scary realm of reading music. To be a confident and skilled player I feel you have to eventually tackle this as many of my favorite players have said. Ive tried before and my book shelves and downloads prove it. But thats all just static material. Well, I was recommended this book that's directed to guitarists from an accomplished and talented guitarist that actually had to learn this himself. Well, you can tell he was able to take all the experience and trials he had learning and teaching and able to construct an efficient, and well laid out process. The examples even are well organized and cumulative, from what I see, thru the entire book. Cool thing is that he even designed it so the material can be played across, down, backwards and upside down even and several other ways as you develop. Pretty ingenious. Cant wait to complete the first time thru. Backwards and upside down?! Really Mr. Buono?! Gotta love it! When you check out his playing, it all makes sense that he be the one to design this. Spot on! A must have for all.

Excellent resource for every guitarist! 4 janvier 2014

Finally a book that addresses the difficulty of reading music specifically for guitarists.
A fantastic teacher and guitarist, Buono has written a masterpiece that will help any guitarist become a better reader.
All of the examples are clearly focused and methodically presented. "Music reading" is a book that can be re-read many times and will surely improve any guitar players reading skills. Highly recommended!
