A good "gift" for your children's other care takers 31 octobre 2013
Par Logan D - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
I have read and loved others of Adele Faber and Elaine Maslish's other books (Siblings Without Rivalry, How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk) and I was so excited that they had come out with a new one. I was initially disappointed because this new book does not cover new material. Instead, it is shorter and is intended as a review or as a resource for people who don't have time to read their other books. For what it is, it is great. It is under 100 pages and like their other books it includes engaging cartoons that cover the key information. I am particularly excited about the CD which I intend to lend out to my mother and mother-in-law and to friends who are interested in changing how they relate to their children but don't have the time or interest to read a full-length book. I think it will be a great starting point for conversations with the grandmas.

If you are new to these authors, and are ready to read a full-length book, I would definitely read How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk, but if you are just looking for an introduction, either for yourself or for your spouse, relatives, the nanny, or friends, this is a great place to start.

Best way to raise kids 16 février 2014
Par J. Kercher - Publié sur Amazon.com

This book is the "Cliff Notes" version of How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk by the same authors. If you like this book and want to know more get the fuller version.

I SOOOOO wish I had had this book when I was raising my kids!!! This is the way to raise kids and greatly reduce the tug of war that so often goes on. This method helps raise kids who are compassionate, understanding of the feelings of others (because they have never been denied their feelings) considerate, respectful and able to make the right decisions.

There is no such thing as a conflict free household when raising children but this method greatly brings greater calm to dealing with children, reduces the tension, anger, rebellion and bad feelings that often ensue.

Every parent should be given a copy of this book after delivery of their child!!!!

Another GREAT book by the same authors - How to Talk so Kids Can Learn, should be required reading for every teacher but you can use it too as a parent at home to help your school age kids!
Great stuff!!!! Highly recommend this book!

This was recommended by a counselor who advised it had good 25 juillet 2014

This was recommended by a counselor who advised it had good, easy to understand suggestions on how to better understand and parent your children. It is a pretty concise book....short and to the point. After the first two chapters,
life around the house became much nicer. My middle school and high school aged children were getting along better with each other and their parents. The parents have to be the role models and mutual respect is key. Wonderful purchase.

Same stuff over and over 24 mars 2014

I do like this book but it's exactly the same as "How to Talk..." series. I loved the how to talk books and I was hungry for more but this was a total disappointment. Even the examples are exactly the same, nothing new so why write another book? So the point of the review is don't buy it if you have the "How to Talk" book.

Good summary of their other books and a quick read. Good for passing on to a parent who isn't ready for the longer read.
