Who is the predator, and who is the prey?

Adrian Hell, the legendary assassin, has been commissioned to take out a government official who’s found himself on the wrong side of the wrong people. The job goes as planned, but before Adrian can leave the scene, he’s taken into custody by the FBI.

Enter Grace Chambers, a no-nonsense FBI agent who asks Adrian for his help in bringing down a terrorist calling themselves The Shark, who's responsible for several recent attacks on the city.

But things aren't what they seem, and as the truth behind Adrian's involvement is revealed, so too is the full extent of The Shark's horrifying plans.

In this non-stop, blockbuster thriller, Adrian is forced into a deadly game of cat and mouse, going bullet for bullet with an unseen enemy while the fate of thousands of innocent people hangs in the balance. The result is a fast paced adventure, filled with relentless action, laugh-out-loud humor, and some of the most iconic set-pieces ever written, that will leave you slack-jawed and short of breath, gasping for more!

One of the best books I've read this year. Fast paced with a lot of twists and turns and bloody good fun. Someone should do a screenplay and make it into a movie. It would be better than 90% of what's being shown today.

This is my second book in the series and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them. James Summer has a talent for writing and it shows with the thrilling action throughout the book. Good stuff.
1.0 étoiles sur 5 Free is the right book price...A fun read but total BS 15 septembre 2015

Got this free and it was worth every penny. It was a fun read, but total hogwash. Fiction requires some suspension of reality, this story is way past normal reality suspension. This writer's work requires more reality suspension than would be needed if it were in the area of magic and fantasy. But this work is not presented as fairy dust and elves. Instead it is intended as a thriller. The writer has little or no knowledge of the U.S. but sites his books here anyway and his protagonist is supposedly an American. Ya only missed it by that much! (Picture me holding my palms as far apart as possible without a shoulder dislocation.) I won't belabor the grammar and punctuation errors, others have covered them adequately. I will call BS on the constant head injuries. Adrian would surely be a mental vegetable (I mean literally, not just figuratively) if he got only half of the concussive head blows the writer gives him. And just for the record, there is no way a Stinger missile could do what the writer alleges this one does. In fact everything the writer says about the Stinger including his description of its functioning, all except its alphanumeric designation is just bogus horse excrement. (I was a Stinger section chief in my earlier years.) Even a quick Google search will give you more accurate information. It is doubtful that even the great Carlos Hathcock could have made the rifle shot that Adrian is supposed to have made, and Hathcock once killed an enemy sniper by shooting him through his (the enemy's) own scope into the eye. So to recap; grammar and punctuation, awful, U.S. sites, speech patterns, customs, etc. awful, suspension of reality (head injuries/wounds, miracle marksmanship) BS, weapons in general, Stinger in particular, pathetic. And what professional assassin doesn't remember to count his rounds fired, or even forgets (at least twice) if he is armed or not? Mr. Sumner on his website proudly proclaims that he edits his own work because an editor he hired cheated him. I can only hope that Mr. Sumner is a better account manager than he is an editor. My suggestions, get a real editor. Stop relying on TV shows to "teach" you about the U.S., or maybe write what you really know, a British protagonist operating in Europe. Get real info on the weapons that your characters use. Seriously Adrian's "miracle" rifle shot was less likely than a lottery win. No one is a "natural" super marksman. Shooting is a skill acquired with hard work and much practice. No one never misses. Concussions, broken ribs, and knife and bullet wounds do take their toll on a human being, no matter how much of a bad ass one may be.
3.0 étoiles sur 5 Still fun, face-paced and full of terribly delightful villains 23 juillet 2015

3. 4 Stars! "Hunter's Games" is the second book in the Adrian Hell Thriller Series. Still fun, face-paced and full of terribly delightful villains. But there were a few things that kept it from keeping the rank of it's nearly Four Star prequel. Adrian Hell's story resumes with him going about his day on an every-day job . . . an assassination call on a City Hall employee in San Francisco, California. When the job is done, an unexpected and ugly surprise waits for him outside of City Hall that sends Hell into a dangerous spiral of old vendettas and some frighteningly organized terrorists! While the story line was good and the characters as witty and engaging as ever, there were some repeat situations from the first book that dragged me through the story. The middle of the story, while still engaging, was far less exciting than first book and slightly predictable in some scenarios. However, "Hunter's Games" was still a page-turner and a rather decent read. I'm hoping the next book in the series "One Last Bullet" ups it up a notch as Adrian returns to the city where darkness first consumed him for some overdue and much deserved revenge!
4.0 étoiles sur 5 Action Filled Thriller! 15 septembre 2015

I have read this, as well as the first installment of the Adrian Hell series, and have enjoyed them both.

Overall, "Hunter's Games" is a great thriller with plenty of snappy dialogue and action. I don't mind violence in my thrillers, and the gunplay and fights are outstanding. I usually have no problem suspending my disbelief... this is fiction after all... but the climax of this book was a little too unbelievable for me. Still, what the hell, Adrian Hell is a badass!

My only real critique of this book is sometimes the author doesn't get how Americans speak. Every now and then Adrian, or another American-born character, will deliver a line in a way that is not normal considering where they are from. The author is from the UK, and for the most part he's done his homework. Still, there are sentences that take me out of the story because they don't sound right. Still, it's not enough to detract from this well-paced thriller.
