Présentation de l'éditeur

Recipient of seven book awards, this spiritual classic is a sparkling jewel in the field of personal growth and enlightenment. It is filled with ageless wisdom that brings a new level of understanding to our journey of healing and personal transformation.
Outstanding for it's precision, depth, ease of understanding, density of information, and uniqueness of format, this book helps to shift the readers perspective into a higher state of consciousness with simple words that carry tremendous power. It is both a thought-provoking mind feast and a step-by-step road map to healing and becoming more conscious and free.

This book will help you discover:

the purpose of the ego and the seven stages of its development
how to heal and transform the ego-mind into consciousness in the seven energy bodies or charkas
how to move from thought to silence
how to transform thoughts into self-awareness and presence
how to practice the seven paths of surrendering
how to break through personal and collective conditionings
how to transform fears, pain, and suffering and find inner strength and wholeness

The book also has Q&A sections after each chapter to help bring the topics described in the chapter refreshingly practical and down to earth. The author's personal story at the end of the book acts as an example of how she traveled on her own path of trials and tribulations and experienced enlightenment.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Inspiring---and great reference book for the spiritual path! 15 juillet 2009
Par Susan Schenck - Publié sur Amazon.com
I have been on a spiritual journey since age 15, and on the path of nonduality since age 38. At first when I began to read this, I thought, "Just another book saying the same thing in different words." But as I went further, I began to realize this is a sort of comprehensive guide or resource book to the spiritual path/world/life.

The beginning chapters teach you how to witness (be very present and observe with detachment), list the spiritual stages (preschool to university), and answer the often overlooked question: What exactly is the ego? (And, how did it develop?)

The middle of the book is also great. Chapter 3 details 7 paths of surrendering: surrendering to sexuality, life, inner power, love, individuality, inner wisdom, and will to exist. Chapter 4 is perhaps the best description I have ever read of the 7 bodies, and how they correlate with the chakras, as well as how to move through them. We are warned of stumbling blocks along the way and advised on how to purify the bodies. This section alone makes the book a real keeper to refer to often. Chapter 5 is about how to heal the ego mind into consciousness.

Have you ever wondered exactly what thoughts were? There is an entire chapter devoted to the discussion of thoughts, what they are, how they are connected to emotions, and how to deal with them.

No doubt, the best is saved for the last. Near the end of the book we are given a complete chapter on breaking free from the illusion and another very comprehensive chapter packed with all kinds of meditation tools and techniques. There is bound to be several practices that will appeal to each of us. What I appreciate are the active, dynamic meditations for when we simply do not feel like sitting still! I was even inspired to purchase 2 of Osho's CDs for these meditations!

Speaking of Osho, I recall in the `80s when the media made him into a laughingstock and materialistic madman. (And who ever heard of anyone getting enlightened through him?) Even though I have several acquaintances that lived with him in India and Oregon, I never really got the story straight until I read the last chapter. Eliza makes it very clear that he was a true master, and that the ranch was (contrary to rumors) not an orgy! I was so touched by her experiences with him that I went online and got 2 books by Osho.

My only criticism is that I think the last chapter perhaps should have been first. At the end, we get to know the author and her complete personal journey to awakening. We see her growth not only in this life, but from several past lives as well! This is perhaps the most inspiring. We are left with the feeling that if she can do it, so can we! It is simply a matter of focus and intention. Many nondual books say, do nothing, just observe. This book is inspiring me to take a more proactive approach! I plan to incorporate several of the dynamic meditations to unblock the energy and get the chakras flowing!

I found this book to explain ego development and the spiritual journey in such a complete and yet simple way. I love that someone is finally talking about the usefulness of the ego on the spiritual journey, what a relief! From a serious spiritual seeker to someone contemplating the path, all will gain from this book.

After listening to a podcast of an interview with the author I felt moved to order this book. I've worked as a clinical social worker and in publishing mainstream books. My experience in social work was that we lacked a technology that could really heal; in reading books on consciousness, metaphysics, spiritual and mystical traditions, or pop psychology there was often something missing in the application or the explanation. The books often seemed like "flavors of the week," retreads, or followed a cookie cutter format: case histories, remarkable cures, a new twist here and there, quotes from the great mystics. happy talk or "tips," or too much information on the personal journey of the author. Or worse, mysticism without giving an understanding of the necessary steps to enlightenment.

Dalian's "against the grain" notions of how the ego needs to be strengthened in order, paradoxically, to be put aside and her advocacy of saying negative thougts aloud before an outbreath as opposed to repeating mantra-like positive affirmations that do not address unconscious thoughtforms in the body reflected a spiritual traveller who can think outside the box.

The book is outstanding for it's precision, depth, ease, density of information, and uniqueness of format. Dalian leaves her personal odyssey for the ending chapters which showed spiritual humility and works well for those who tend to interpret information in terms of the sender. I'm glad to own the book and will recommend it to others because I think it will age very well will resonate with many.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A book for the sincere seeker! 30 août 2011

This book seems to speak the most to those that have been searching for along time and have tried many things. Going beyond the superficial band-aid approach you often see in the self-help industry and spiritual/religious practices, this book is an in-depth practical guide for understanding the human experience and your own unique journey. I feel the author wants to trigger your own individual desire for truth and everything in this book comes from her direct experience.

Before I found this book I had been reading and learning about the ego and how the mind creates stories which creates our reality. I tried really hard to not be in my ego and would get glimpses of living life more directly instead of my stories. But it seemed really hard and I couldn't sustain it, I kept thinking I must be addicted to my mind and I wondered how to deal with this. When I found Mada's book it gave me the answer of why I was struggling, and so many other questions that other teachers couldn't help me with.

It was a great relief to stop struggling against myself and instead discover more about myself.

I feel there is a whole continuum on the journey and a lot of people talk from the end of it, enlightenment and oneness and all that. But there is a process on the way and for me it didn't help me to try to be like those teachers, I had to understand where I was in order to help myself.
