I've got this tripod alongside with the Joby professional ballhead a week ago.
First impression: the build quality is OK, but the rotules are not as firme as been described. I've a 450D coupled with à 17-270 and the tripod has some difficulties to hold them sturdy. The lens has tends to 'nod' while mounted. And at least one leg is lowering itself...
While the head do include a level, the tripod itself do not. So it's hard to get the platform really horizontal. Plus the head is 'single screw' designed, it is tricky to spin the head withoud loosening the camera. Thus, it is impossible to make a panoramic shot.
Ok, it do save some situations otherwise impossible. But it is quite useless on everyday shooting. I'll continue to use my classical yet heavy tripod.
