After spending some time in Japan, I find that Meghan Murphy pokes delightful fun at the culture of kawaii.

Besides the bountiful collection wonderful four pane commic there's a few treats like the manifesto, kawii-o-scope and a short story.
As an added bonus, I find that the way the book is constructed lends itself nicely to turning each commic into a postcard. My friends love recieving them.
I'd recommend this as a gift to anyone over 13, seeing as some references and wording are a more adult.

If you want to get an idea of what the humor is like, Ms. Murphy has constructed a website: [...]. Most of what you see there is also in the book. I hope you enjoy!

I have the book sitting on my desk and people come in all the time to flip through it. Everyone leaves laughing! It's not too raunchy (well minus a few that might be considered not exactly 'work safe') and the majority of them of hysterical. My personal favorite is the chainsaw "whir!" but a lot of the engineers are partial to the can of botulism.

I love the way it props up even though the cover gives me a bit of trouble sometimes. It's a great book to share.

I bought this on the Barnes and Noble website used and I enjoyed it very much. There are some comic strips I don't get, but they're still very cute and funny. I especially liked the little interludes. The horoscopes, the quiz and the poem were very funny.

The one thing I don't like about it is the way the book is put together. Sure, it's good for giving pages away, but a lot of them were falling out or already missing when I got it in the mail. Although, I was reading the comic strips and noticed that I had extras and some I hadn't read yet put in the middle.

Also, stickers at the end! Who doesn't love stickers? Overall, this is a very good book and I would recommend it to any adults who know the little quirks of "Kawaii" things.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 So Much WOW in one book! 18 avril 2008

Having been a long-time reader of Meghan's Kawaii Not strips online, there's something very exciting about having them printed in full color, compiled neatly into a flip-style spiral bound book, complete with stickers and perforated sheets so you can share them with friends, put them in scrapbooks, or plaster them on your walls like wallpaper.

For those not familiar with Kawaii Not, the concept is very simple: a vertical 4-panel strip that features a daily item with attitude. Meghan's humor is clever and edgy and with loads of cute!

Add a punch of color and humor to your day - pick up a copy! You'll be highly amused!

2.0 étoiles sur 5 I love the book, but I have a problem with Amazon... 31 mars 2013

I ordered the book new, but it came to me with a bunch of scruff marks on the cover, and it looks like there was a sticker on there too. The pages are all rubbing off on each other, there's a torn sticker on the back, and they covered up a sticker with an Amazon sticker. I looked back and checked and it said I ordered it new. Like, seriously, right out of the box it was obviously in bad condition. I don't really want to do anything with this now because it really doesn't look nice. It's especially annoying because I paid $5 for this. I don't know if I should return it. Whatever. I guess Amazon's done enough for me...
