Présentation de l'éditeur
For the next four decades, Regan would go on to chronicle the greatest fights and the greatest fighters of the age. His extraordinary photogrpaphs include many of the most enduring images ever created in the annals of boxing, as well as portraits of notable trainers, managers, promoters, writers, and the whole panoply of celebrities associated with the sport. Featuring some of the greatest ring action in boxing history, Knockout takes us from sparring sessions and press conferences to weigh-ins and post-fight sessions.
Knockout also features Regan's compelling stories and firsthand accounts of his amazing photographic journey into the heart of boxing. Beginning with his early magazine work shooting prizefights and throughout the following decades, Regan developed close personal friendships with some ofthe greatest fighters. Regan captures intimate moments showing fighters with their families at home and on the road. With numerous black-and-white and color images, many of them seen here for the first time, Knockout is destined to be one of the most celebrated books ever published on the subject of boxing.

The forward is written by Muhammad Ali, a commentary is written by the famous writer Norman Mailer who also used to box, the introduction is written by Liam Neeson, who also used to box in his younger days and the afterword word is written by Budd Schulberg. This wonderful book is organized into 8 photographic rounds (sections or chapters) Round 1 covers photographs of the life and times of Muhammad Ali. The second round features Joe Frazier. The third round shows photographs of George Foreman when he was young and when he was older but still fighting. The four round deals with photographs of Mike Tyson. The fifth round has photographs of Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston, The Spinks brothers, Ken Norton, Gerry Cooney, Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe and Lennox Lewis. In the sixth round there are photographs of the following champions: Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, Roy Jones, Oscar De La Hoya and Christy Martin. Round seven covers boxers in the Olympics, which is in my opinion the least interesting chapter. The final round features some very fascinating photographs of the various celebrities at ringside such as Sylvester Stallone, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin.
If you are a die hard boxing fan and collector of boxing photographs, this is a book you should have in your collection. It is a fantastic book and is a real joy to read and view all the great photographs.
