A great place to start, or a good second or third book on the subject... 14 août 2005

This is a great follow-up to the Process-Experiential book "Facilitating Emotional Change". Well written, and user-friendly, this manual helps to make this approach usable. A therapy book that isn't too theory oriented, which is refreshing.

I would highly recommend it.

Excellent introduction to experiential and emotion focused approaches 19 août 2007

This book is a great first read for anyone interested in emotion-focused therapy or experiential therapies in general. It could also be a good read for more intermediate to advanced therapists newer to this area of therapy. It gives some good background on humanistic approaches to therapy and how this approach fits into the larger therapy landscape. The book does a good job of giving just enough theory to tie together the very practical and accessible style in which it is written. Highly recommended. There are suggestions for many further readings at the end of each chapter, which is a useful resource for those looking to delve deeper.

NO TABLE OF CONTENTS 8 août 2011

A very good book and the worst possible kindle edition. The problem? Well, imagine that you would like to read that bit in chapter five that you liked so much. Because there is no links in the table of contents you have to go manually through all the pages until you arrive to the desired bit. Image you would like to review a procedure again you have to go there manually. What is the purpose of having a kindle edition if it does work properly? AVOID THE KINDLE EDITION AND BUY A HARD COPY.

I wish more therapy books were like this one 30 avril 2013

If you are a therapist that "sees the world feelingly" but have had difficulty finding a way of organizing your work with the client then I recommend this book highly. Beside being exceptionally well written it's also very pragmatic and well organized. If you are interested in paying less attention to what is being said in session and more attention to how it's being said (and what do do to move the client forward) then this is the book for you.

One step closer to being an amazing therapist 22 octobre 2012

I have the privilege to study EFT with Dr. Brent Bradley. We read this book as part of our class. It was very concise and informative. The case studies and step by step interventions really help a clinician develop the tools they need to help our clients receive the best care possible.
