Indispensable.

George at his best 20 juin 2003
Par Un client - Publié sur Amazon.com
Can't say as I have heard the album.....but...."Cheer Down" as performed by the late, great George Harrison is one of the finest songs of it's genre...the lyrics are absolutely dripping with cycnicism....its also got a nice melody too....
I bought the album purely on the strength of this song alone.....Beatle fans everywhere....you won't be disappointed by this offering....the album is worth it for this song alone....forget the rest....this song is George at his best...

Awesome soundtrack with powerful themes and guitar riffs 7 juin 2004
Par Amazon Customer - Publié sur Amazon.com
The soundtrack to lethal weapon 2 is absolutely beautiful; the theme in 'Riggs and Roger' that recurs in 'Goodnight Rika' and 'Riggs' is powerful and moving; Georfe Harrison's 'Cheer Down' represents brilliant rock and roll; and the other tracks are instrumental rock and roll beauty. All in all it is a wonderful soundtrack to accompany a wonderful movie.
A Disappointment 13 avril 2012

I am a collector of films and film scores. 'Lethal Weapon 2' has been on my 'masterpiece action score - desperately want it' list for more than 20 years, along with other Michael Kamen scores from the '80s and '90s. When I finally found 'LW2' on Amazon, it was somewhat of a 'Found the Holy Grail' experience... except it was priced at between $50 and $100.

Consequently, when I recently found it available for $20, I snapped it up. As soon as it arrived, the disc went straight from my mailbox into my stereo.

The first issue, naturally, would be with the first three tracks. George Harrison's 'Cheer Down' is track 1, despite its place over the closing credits in the film (now I understand why thousands of Beatles apostles squirreled away all the copies of this album when it first came out). Well... ok... but then there's a Beach Boys track. Now, I've seen 'LW2' I don't know how many times, but obviously I'm going to have to see it again to figure out where this song occurs (I would then have to consult a Buddhist master up on a mountain to find out why the hell anyone would care if this track got included). What follows is a cover of 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door' by Randy Crawford. Who? What? The tune does make an appearance before the closing credits, but that is included later on the disc. So what gives?

These (66% irrelevant) tracks strip 10-odd minutes from a 43-minute disc, when there should by the natural law of the universe be at least an hour of great Michael Kamen adrenalin. And the remaining tracks are confounding. Nearly all the action cues I so fondly remember from the movie are missing (the opening car chase; the car chase after the embassy scene; the attack on Riggs' caravan; the final knife fight, and so so much more). The pulp that some bureaucrat saw fit to include, is the emasculated remains of iconic '80s action music. It is Michael Kamen, however. You just gotta give a couple of stars for that.
Wonderful, groovy Jazzy tunes 12 décembre 2004
Par Clark Gable - Publié sur Amazon.com
This soundtrack has to be the best of the Lethal Weapon soundtracks. With the great George Harrison singing "Cheer Down" with incredible ryhthm and Randy Crawford performing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door". Just for these two this OST is worthy.

The real gem however is the collaborations of Eric Clapton and David Sanborn. Just listen to track 4 ("Riggs"), Sanborn's saxophone and Clapton's electronic guitar merge perfectly to create one of the most groovy tunes I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. Simply perfect.

The late Michael Kamen does an incredible job of orchestrating the other tunes in this OST as well.

Well worth the price, if you ever loved the LW series or just like jazzy tunes in general, then this is for you. This is a soundtrack that have stayed with me for years and I still like to listen to it while cruising in my car.
Album for Lethal Weapon 2 movie 31 juillet 2013

I remember watching this movie in the theater and I thought the music was really good. I especially liked the Eric Clapton cover of Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door".

I thought I'd check buy it used to see how much I liked listening to the whole album. I liked the movie (the whole series a lot) and Gibson movie's have had good soundtracks, first Lethal Weapon movie (good) and Braveheart (excellent).

This was one was so-so as there wasn't a full cover of Clapton's song. If you're a fan of the movie or series, I'd recommend it, otherwise I'd skip it.
