Biographie de l'auteur

Daniel McCrohan first fell in love with Bangladesh way back in 1998 and has since made multiple trips here, chalking up many months' worth of Bangla-travel. He has worked extensively throughout Asia (his adopted home since leaving England more than eight years ago), but particularly enjoys this region, one of the few parts of South Asia, he says, that still has yet to be properly discovered by travellers. Daniel has worked on more than a dozen other Lonely Planet guides including India, Tibet and China. He also cohosted the Lonely Planet television series Best in China. You can follow his Asia travels on Twitter or through his website.

HASH(0x9393a4bc) étoiles sur 5 Great guide made a fantastic trip. 22 janvier 2013
Par Daniel. - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
Wow... what a trip! Bangladesh was amazing, and this book was genuinely invaluable - I would not have enjoyed Bangladesh without it. We found most of the recommendations to be spot on - really fun restaurants, loads of great options for hotels, easy to use maps and loads of really interesting background reading on the country - but the best thing about the book was the information on public transport - so detailed, so helpful, and really makes the difference if you're trying to see a lot of the country and fit as much as you can into your trip. You do have the option of renting a car and a driver in Bangladesh, but if you want to save some money, and to see the country on your own, then I definitely recommend getting this guide. Thank you Lonely Planet.

This book was not good, and didn't help me much when traveling in Bangladesh for 4 weeks. Some of the information was wrong, and a lot of the information that should have been there is not there. It does not look like the author really have travelled much in Bangladesh. If you want one book, go for the Bradt guide. This is very disappointing publishing from Lonely Planet.
HASH(0x9393a7ec) étoiles sur 5 Kindle version maps-awful in LP books!!! 19 octobre 2013
Par Zilzal - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
As many already know, maps on most Kindle titles are impossible to read or enlarge. To add insult to injury, the entire Bengali language chapter -the one that would have been most useful in my day to day interactions in country- were also miniaturized! Amazon please get your act together and fix this problem!!!

HASH(0x9393a6e4) étoiles sur 5 Buy the Bradt Guide instead 18 janvier 2013
Par Cmmcc - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
This book is ok, but I suspect Lonely Planet put minimal time resource into this guide as its not a huge destination. Several numbers are inaccurate and listings are limited. The Bradt guide for Bangladesh is much more detailed and useful and has much more social justice information.
HASH(0x9393ad2c) étoiles sur 5 Well researched and simple to use 7 mai 2013
Par Wez - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
As the title says - this is a well researched Lonely Planet and as usual, simple to use. I've used a number of travel guides over the years, and a lot of the time they are all very similar and follow the same format. The one thing that struck me whilst travelling round Bangladesh using this guide is how well researched it really is. The author had clearly spent quite a long time in the country and had obviously been to the places I had been. The prices were as close as you are going to get to being correct (as we all know the prices stipulated in travel guides are out of date as soon as the hotels/restaurants etc start to get lots of business and hike their prices up!).

I would definitely recommend this guide as your go to guide for Bangladesh. Highly informative and as is usual with the Lonely Planet guides, full of interesting facts and figures about the country... and although I didn't stick to the itinerary perfectly, the 1 month 'best of bangladesh' is a great starting point.
