Biographie de l'auteur
Ian Stewart (1945) estudió matemática en la Universidad de Cambridge y se doctoró en la Universidad de Warwick, en la que ahora es catedrático. Desde 2001 es miembro de la Royal Society, Autor de dos centenares de artículos profesionales científicos, es también autor de un buen número de celebrados libros de divulgación matemática, entre los que se encuentran El laberinto mágico, ¿Es Dios un geómetra?, ¿Juega Dios a los dados?, Locos por las matemáticas, Cómo cortar un pastel y otros rompecabezas matemáticos, Belleza y verdad, Historia de las matemáticas , Cartas a una joven matemática y la cuadratura del cuadrado, todos publicados por Crítica.
