5.0 étoiles sur 5The freshest, most modern designs27 mars 2013

This is just what I've come to expect from the los logos series: the most modern designs all compiled into one nice volume. This is such a good quality book for a quite reasonable price. The print quality is also fantastic, and the hardcover is nice. Frankly I'm surprised it's so cheap given the high quality. There are 300-some different designer's work covered here, arranged by topic like emblem, type, etc. I think I read somebody's comment that there are too few designers or it doesn't feature mainstream design. To rebut, the first point is moot because there are hundreds of designers. As for the second, not featuring enough mainstream/corporate design like for grocery stores or enterprise software companies... well to be honest I'm pretty happy about that. This is hip, cutting edge, super fresh super modern stuff here, just the way I like it.
The only small criticism I have is that the opening article (the Preface) could have been written better. I think it was maybe only a first draft or something. There were a few serious typos. Also the message was a little ambiguous and not really very captivating writing in general. Then again, this is a graphic design book and 99.99% of the book is excellent logos. I applaud the authors for attempting to add more theory or intellectual writing to the book, and I encourage them to improve this to one day match the high level of the rest of the book. =)

I own all 6 of Los Logos and this is by far the best. 1, 2 and 3 are just a collection of plain logos. Type "logos" on google images and you will probably get a better selection. But this one, thankfully, shows something far more creative and innovative. Recommended.

As a graphic designer, I've found the series invaluable over the years. I own the first three books, but didn't purchase the 4th or 5th, because it felt like they were starting to get a little stale around Tres Logos - still not giving much of a context for the marks, and including many, many self-promotional marks that (aside from the book) likely never saw the light of day anyway. Los Logos 6, however, seems to stick a bit more to actual identities instead of just playful studies, which is great to see. I highly recommend this book to any graphic designers that work on corporate (or not-so-corporate) identity systems.
