The "Astral Dynamics" or "MAP in 90 days" books are very helpful describing what you are doing in the CD's. I preferred the AD text because the timelines in the MAP book weren't very helpful to me personally. I found I had to work on the exercises longer than the MAP book specified to get them down and thus, my meditation timelines didn't correlate to the MAP text. The AD text gives a broader overview which I found more helpful because I could just grasp the concept and work on it until I had it down.
CD's 2 - 4: I had great success with these. The first track on the CD covers the verbal instructions, while the second track is a continuation with no verbal instructions. Once you get the verbal instructions down, you'll probably want to just set the second track on repeat on an ipod to do the exercises as long as desired. I personally learned to (1) deeply relax and (2) move some sort of energy in my secondary chakras (feet, hands, arms, legs, and spine) from these CD's. I didn't have much success with moving energy into the primary chakras (i.e. heart, solar plexus, etc) but after interacting with the Astral Dynamics folks, they said this was normal.
CD 5: I had no success with this CD and the author claims this is crucial to making the projection process work. You have to wake up in the middle of the night when you are physically tired but mentally alert to do this. The physical tiredness but mental altertness creates the greatest possiblility of creating a projectable double with the least amount of "spiritual energy" stored in the naval region. After some Q&A with the Astral Dynamics folks, I found that for beginners such as myself who have very little energy storage in the early stages (and which by the way takes quite some time to build up, explained in the AD & MAP texts), an extremely tired state helps create the projectable double with the least amount of energy required. I had no success in this area and just found myself tired after 30 minutes of listening to the CD in the midnight to 2AM timeframes.
CD6: I had some success with this CD. I had a warm, tingly feeling overwhelm my entire physical being when working with the elevator & rope techniques. These are techniques designed to simulate motion in your mind's eye. I think the warm, tingly feeling was probably the projectable double the Astral Dynamics discuses being somewhat created, but since my timeframe was in the middle of the day, my body wasn't tired enough to successfully create the entire projectable double neccessary for projection success.
I now just meditate for peace of mind and I use the techniques in CD's 2 to 4. Attempting projection has become a somewhat frustrating process but the meditation process and energy movement in the secondary chakra areas are invigorating to my being.
I highly recommend this system.
The Amazon cost of $30-$35 is reasonable for the quality instruction provided. The real cost is in time that one must invest. The concentration required for the Disk 3 meditation and mind clearing is demanding. Waking up at 3am about 5 or 6 nights a week for several weeks is more than many will be willing to do.
Be sure that you are ready to put in two to three hours every day for several months.
Getting the CDs was a move in the direction of the application method. I was put off by the price as I can get most audiobooks from local libraries. However, audiobooks are not part of the InterLibrary loan agreement with local state libraries and the two I belong to didn't have the CDs, so I decided to buy them.
I have listened to all 6 cds and I am impressed. I will need to relocate the book to make a really concerted effort to achieve what the "course" is designed to do. However, the CDs are very professionally done and includes many insights even when not try to achieve their specific aim.
Incidetially, Robert bruce has appeared on Coast to Coast AM at least a couple of times describing his work with George Noory. He is not the narrator, but the narrator seems to be a genuine experiencer.
