blurb about how great I'll feel after I'll achieve my goal. I know all that. That's why I set the goal in the first place. That's why I like Grant Michaels's book. They just get straight to it, focus on the exercises, what you need to do, how many you need to do and when to move on to the next stage. And by the end of it, you've achieved what he promised in the title. For anyone interested in pushing their body strength and building muscle tone, Michaels is the guy to rely on.

The normal push up is a challenge for most of us but I have been training all year and was getting a little bored with my routine. I was hunting around looking for ways to up the ante when I came across Grant Michaels. He has a great selection of body building books and this one is the last in the series. It was perfect for what I was looking for. He breaks the stages down into six easy steps starting with normal push ups and moving onto staggered and one arm raised push ups. After completing a couple of weeks of repetitions with these exercises, I was ready to move to the next stage. Now I only do one arm push ups and get even more from my workout sessions. Easy steps that get results. That's what I want from a book.

I think this a perfect book for bodybuilders. Grant Michaels in this tome offers the reader and the exercise enthusiast a comprehensive guide on how to master one arm push-ups. Now, it may not sound so easy at first, but as you follow the instructions you come to realize that nothing is impossible.

One could ask: Why should I buy this book? The author has the answer and it's as simple as they come: "If you are seeking a challenge to make not only your workout more demanding but also a way to build the strength of many parts of your body at once, then you need Mastering the One Arm Push-Up."

How do you do that? Just look at the illustrations and read the author's words. Michaels explains in detail how the different exercises highlighted in this book can help you strengthen your body, by targeting specific muscle groups: "As in any push-up exercise, the main muscle groups targeted are the pectoral muscles of the chest and the triceps muscles of the upper arm." However, "maintaining correct posture and balance requires a high level of functional strength and fitness in the body's core muscle groups."

The author then goes on to create for the reader/athlete a step by step guide on how to achieve his goals. With the necessary help of the illustrations he explains how to start and move forward, until you get to the point where you were headed right from the beginning.

Step one is the standard push-up; step two is the staggered push-up; and they are followed by the one arm raised, one arm wall, one arm kneeling and negative one arm push-ups.

But even if you come to master all of the above you're not quite finished yet, since Michaels comes to offer at the end of the six steps some supplementary exercises, before moving on to provide the reader with some training tips and advice: "Whether using fixed weights, free weights, or body weight alone, training your body to improve strength and endurance causes microscopic damage to your muscles. Improvements in strength are the result of your body repairing the damage and adapting to the new physical pressures being placed upon it. For this reason adequate rest and recovery time is an essential element of any effective training program."

So exercising should not be taken lightly, the author suggests. Do not harm your body in an effort to strengthen it. Just follow the training program and everything will go according to plan.

Grant Michaels is an expert in the field since he has been a private trainer to competitive bodybuilders and strength athletes for more than three decades. Now, with this book he brings his hard-earned wisdom to the general public in an effort to make exercising sound not only exhausting but also kind of fun. I'm quite certain that his fellow enthusiasts will appreciate this offering.
