This CD contains three guided meditations: Inner Peace, Pure Light, and Inspiration. These meditations consist of simple guided instructions with quiet spaces for you to focus on the object of meditation and to experience the inner peace which it gives rise to. The spaces are progressively longer. These meditations may be practiced in any order, but you might like to try them in sequence first. Then you may choose the one that works best for you, to focus on it more often. Meditations for Relaxation are all forms of breathing meditation to help to calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and well-being. The first is a basic breathing meditation which helps to disengage the mind from the busyness of everyday life and create a special feeling of inner peace. The second combines mindfulness of the breath with a visualization - or creative imagination - to lead to a deep feeling of inner calm and purity. The third is a special breathing meditation that combines mindfulness of the breath with the recitation of a 'mantra' (literally 'mind protection'). All these meditations can be practiced by anyone. Living Meditation is part of Tharpa Publications. The meditations are taken from the works of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism who has pioneered the introduction of modern Buddhism into contemporary society.
