Coordinating Author Adam Karlin grew up, as so many Americans do, with grand-parents in Florida, and fondly remembers many a December snowbirding in West Palm Beach. Later in life he worked as a reporter for the Key West Citizen. What followed was a period of writing on trailer-park evictions, mosquito-eating guppies, melodramatic local government hearings (is there any other kind ?) and Cuban boat people, plus short stints working as a radio DJ and bouncer in the Keys. Eventually he was hired by Lonely Planet to cover South Florida in all her myriad weirdness. Since then he's written or contributed to over two dozen guidebooks for the company, almost always in tropical places : the Southern USA, Caribbean, Africa and Southeast Asia. It's a living.

Une reprise du guide LP de la Floride. Rien de bien mieux. Une nouvelle structure et mise en page Lonely planet qui déçoit. Un manque d'infos flagrants.

This is the poorest ebook I bought so far. There was no attempt to have a proper Table of content- so getting around was cumbersome. Buy the paper version.

Lonely Planet guides are great. But the Kindle version lacks any useful navigational aids.
Since this title is not available in the Lonely Planet app, it's best to lug a hard copy.

Not so great for off-the-beaten path travel

We like to explore off-the-beaten path places when we travel. I have used other Lonely Planet guides that I enjoyed (Costa Rica), but this one I felt was kinda thin on coverage of places we enjoy, and kinda Miami heavy. I got the Kindle version... Might be good if you're more into shopping, bar-hopping, but wasn't great for us.
