Un petit "Rock Brigade" ou "When The Walls Came Tumblin' Down" aurait fait plaisir! "Now", "Demolition Man", "Promises", "Truth?" ou bien "Deliver Me", voilà des compositions qui pouvaient plaire également.

Bringin' on the Hits 7 juin 2011
Par Brandon J. Smith - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
Def Leppard's been around a long time, but this is their first official live album, despite having earned a reputation as a tremendous live act.

I'll open with my two quibbles: First, I really wish the DVD was of a full concert, or a full-length assortment of performances. While it's nice to have the four performances and two (unnecessary) videos, I feel like a full concert would have been the icing on the cake for this release. As it is, the DVD is merely a bonus, rather than a reason to buy this. Second, the set-list is a little too predictable. Obviously, Def Leppard should include a healthy dose of hits, as they do, but just a few surprises would have been welcome. A performance of their cover of 20th Century Boy would have been my first choice, or Run Riot, but I can't really complain too much, because . . .

What you do get on the two live CDs is just plain awesome. Joe Elliott doesn't quite have the same voice he did in the early 80s, but it's pretty close, and he really nails it, over and over again, throughout this album. The band is in full force, too, with tight performances. As I mentioned, they trot out the hits, and most of them are my favorite Def Lep songs: "Rocket," "Animal," "Armageddon It," "Photograph," "Let's Get Rocked," and plenty of others. Bottom line: they sound great.

Ultimately, I think Def Leppard fans will really enjoy it. I've been a big fan since I was a kid, rocking out to my cassette of Hysteria. I like the new recordings, and I get a real kick out of the performances on these two CDs. Highly recommended.

Finally a Live Album from Def Leppard 14 juin 2011
Par Michael A. Greenberg - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
First I just want to say that in my opinion, Def Leppard are a very good band. They write great ballads and rock out when the need to. This doulbe live CD + A DVD of some material is a great purchase. The DVD is just a bonus as it is not a full concert or anything. Just about 50 min. of 4 live tracks and a lot of behind the scenes stuff. The Double live CD is fantastic. Joe Elliot can still sing and does sound great. (If they touched it up in the studio, I wouldn't be surprized. It is just that about all live albums get touched up) The Duel lead Guitars of Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell are fantastic. Phil's guitar is in the right ear and Viv's is in the left. (For all those listening with headphones). Rick Savage is great on bass. and Rick allen rounds it out on drums. Hats off the Rick Allen for playing all these years with one arm, and still sounding solid. Overall I would recommend this CD, but as much as I love Amazon.com, and I do love them, the import is a little on the expensive side. So either get this Used or New from a third party seller, or get it at Wal-Mart, as it is an exclusive to Wal-Mart, as they are doing this for a growing number of artists nowadays. I think people need to check their website from time to time to see what exclusives they have.

A Good Set of Hits at a Good Price 12 juin 2011
Par John Wall - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD
You get a lot for the price with this collection, it's a no brainer to pick this up if you don't have any of their live stuff. As a fan who's bought the deluxe edition CDs I was a little disappointed that some of the live tracks there are better - but on the other hand you're paying almost half the price of one deluxe CD set for all the hits (3 deluxe editions = over $60 vs. $12).

After a few plays the new tracks are growing on me, Undefeated seems tailor-made to open a show, Kings of the World feels like an homage to Freddie Mercury, and It's All About Believin' has a Pop sensibility that I like and many hate. Check out the samples for yourself.

The DVD is good and has some fun moments, especially Joe Elliot calling for "Death to All But Metal" (for anyone that knows Steel Panther, Warning - not safe for work). The DVD was the clincher for me, to have the clip of Rick's Return to Donington is fantastic. Any fan of the band must watch this clip. That alone is worth the price. The only downer on the DVD is that it's in stereo, the Rock of Ages DVD from 2005 was in 5.1 so I'm not sure what's up with that. I have my tickets for Boston in a couple weeks!

Speechless 15 septembre 2011
Par Ronald K. Clewett - Publié sur Amazon.com

First I have to say I can't really understand some of the negative comments in some of the reviews I read? And definitely surprised that I see only 3 1/2 stars as an over all rating... This cd/dvd is amazing. The live sound is one of the best I've ever heard. Loud, punchy, clear, and in your face. The guitars sound totally metal, and everything kicks ass better than the studio versions in my opinion. Drums and bass are loud and clear, and have great thump. Joe's voice at 50 is as good as I've ever heard him. So what's not to like? This really does kick ass... If I had any complaints, it's there's not enough of it. I paid only about $12.00 for this triple disc (double cd with a dvd). Definitely not a rip off. I will say the only thing bad is, I'd love to see a whole concert dvd because this is only a few songs and leaves you wishing for more. And the other thing is, one of my favorite songs from them is missing~ "Let It Go". Mirror Mirror would have been awesome too. And nothing from their 1st album. Would love to hear Hello America with the newer heavier sound they have here. So that's it~ need more of it, because it rocks, and rocks loud and HEAVY. Hopefully an adendum is coming soon!

Do You Wanna Get Rocked? OH YEAH! 27 juin 2011
Par Rae - Publié sur Amazon.com

Def Leppard have done an outstanding job with Mirror Ball ~ Live & More. The band sound amazing live...they put so much energy into it!

The live versions on Mirror Ball sound so good that I actually prefer them to the studio versions! I think it is very cool that the songs are in order just like the usual set list, so if you put it in your cd player and blast it, you can pretend you're right there at a real show. ;)

I agree with some of the other reviewers here that a full length concert DVD would have been the icing on the cake for all of us Lepp fans, still, the DVD included in the Mirror Ball set is a very nice bonus. A cool look behind the scenes. The clip of Rick Allen's return to Donington is awesome...I dare you not to start clapping and cheering along with all the people on the DVD!

Buy Mirror Ball ~ Live & More, crank it, and enjoy the rock 'n' roll ride!!!
