Omg. I made a salad from this with little expectation for flavor. I was SO wrong. My company kept asking me for the recipe and all promptly went to purchase the book. These recipes are easy to follow, ingredients are easy to find, and this is the first salad I've ever had where I didn't want or need salad dressing. Food is good for you, is filling, and absolutely delicious. Would recommend to everyone.

The first vegetarian recipe book that has inspired me. I have tried quite a few of the recipes and they are all delicious and easy to follow. Each recipe includes vegan and gluten free options and they look as good as they taste!!

Looking through the book the pictures are very well crafted, great food layouts, great lighting, and it looks fun. There are sections in the book that are a light sea-foam green that give you a "main ingredient" and its kind of like a "Choose Your own Adventure book style" from there by adding how you cook, accent foods, etc. Any of the sea-foam green sections are helpful tips- for example one is about what fruits are in season and how she integrates them into her breakfasts.

The recipes are easy to follow and easy to make. Being gluten free I have to be super careful with everything and I thought this book would be a great addition to my cookbook set as most are naturally gluten free or have some mods listed. Of course there is not meats but it is well crafted to the point that you do not need a meat from the different "adventures" you can choose Quinoa or other add in's that are full of protein, fiber, etc.

I can tell you this, I hate Kale. But this offered very different uses for Kale that made this Super Food better for me. Kind of like Brussels Sprouts when you were a kid--I was WAY lucky enough to not have had those as a child and I love them roasted in the oven now as an adult.

Here are a few words from the book:

"I'd like to make a few promises about the food in this book:

It is indulgent and delicious.

It will make you feel good and look good.

It will leave you feeling light yet satisfied.

It will help you lighten your footprint on the planet.

It is quick and easy to make amd won't cost the earth.

And it'll impress your family and friends." (p. 6)

Who doesn't want that!!

On (p. 12) she states " This is my notebook of a discovery of a new and modern way to eat and cook, one that considers our bodies and taste buds alike. Insanely delicious, joyful food brings new possibilities and flavors that make me excited to cook and eat for all the right reasons."

And a huge yes to this. Healthy food that is filling and exciting, sign me up!

A few little dislikes for me in this book-though extremely helpful and worded well-the words stuff, or so, or other vague measurements need not be in a cook book. Also (this could be because mine is a review copy) some of the pages were hard to read because they are too close to the binding

I'll agree with most of the other reviewers here and say how wonderful this book is.

I've admittedly only made about five things so far but they have all been fantastic - lovely flavours and relatively simple. The bircher recipe is so delicious and easy (no apple grating!) and the miso walnut soup was so surprisingly good.

I find many of the books in this genre are more style than substance (eg Green Kitchen Travels, Kenko Kitchen - poorly tested recipes, end result lacking in flavour) - so not the case with this book. The author's tone is really lovely too - the recipes have nice intros/explanations and she is completely unpreachy re organics/expensive ingredients etc.

I also found the non-recipe sections of the book useful and appreciate the very large number of recipes in the book. I'm really looking forward to cooking my way through it, which will take forever!

Final side note - I actually don't like Jamie Oliver recipes, so was a bit worried I wouldn't like this after reading the foreword. But her style of food/flavour preferences is really completely different so don't be put off by that.
