Mouthwatering Vegan Recipes had nearly 86,000 likes on Facebook as of June 2014, and the website was named Best Online Vegan Recipe Guide by the UK Vegan Awards.

I decided to buy this book and another book dealing with (brunches-not really breakfast but lunch). This is my first attempt at vegan cooking as I was leary at first as many people were saying vegan food taste like crap. Well I'm here to tell you this food does not taste like crap. In fact it is quite tasty..... and it's healthy.

I collect vegan cookbooks and read them as most people read a novel, so I know what is out there. I spend a LOT of time in my kitchen trying new vegan recipes and new techniques. I judge a cookbook by making three recipes...if they are good, then I try more and keep the book seeing how the writer thinks and uses their plant based foods and tools. If they are uninteresting, the books gets taken to the second hand shop. If they are wonderful, then they are my "go to" cookbooks that I rely on time and time again. So many cookbooks are just a rehashing of the same old same old thing. Miriam Sorrell is a true artist! She has managed to include many fresh new ideas and creations so delicious as to make one's head spin! Just reading the Table of Contents made my mouth water.....so it is true to it's title. The pictures are tempting, and the directions are easy to follow. These recipes make me look like a master in my own kitchen....all by following the directions of a true Master. Doesn't get any better than this. This "go to" cookbook will fast make you look like a pro...people won't believe that Vegan dishes can taste so good! Get this book!!

On my first day of summer break from teaching middle school math,I was so excited to open my mailbox and find my Mouthwatering Vegan Cookbook. What a great way to start my break!!!! There are wonderful pictures for the dishes, which I find very helpful. The colors are beautiful and the pictures are so clear that I think I could almost smell the food. The cookbook is well organized. There is a very helpful section in the introduction called Vegan Pantry; this section contains some great information about kitchen equipment, vegan dairy, grains, meat substitutes,sweeteners, and so on. The book is arranged into the following sections: 1- Breakfast, Juices, and Smoothies,2- Appetizers & Sides, 3- Soups & Salads, 4- Pasta, Pizza & Burgers, 5-Curries, 6- Mouthwatering Mains, 7- Desserts,Cakes & Treats, and 8- Decadent Cheeses and Dairy Alternatives. The individual sections have their own table of contents. Each recipe begins with a short paragraph describing the dish and giving suggestions about what to serve with the dish. The directions are written in easy to follow steps. This is important for someone like me, who isn't the World's best cook. Most of the ingredients and spices I already have in my pantry, but a few recipes would require a trip to my local "health food" store. Where I live, the grocery stores are lacking in organic and vegan options. I love curried dishes and there are 9 to choose from. There are several recipes for making your own burgers and even one for hot dogs; these are a much healthier option than the over-processed vegan products in the stores. The desserts are sure to keep me from feeling deprived and are something everyone in the family would eat. My only problem is that there are so many wonderful recipes that I can't decide what to make for dinner.

If you are searching for your first Vegan Cookbook or for that cookbook that goes the extra mile then you have found it in this exciting, blaze of a creation.

It is easy to see just how much devotion Miriam has put into this incredible book. Here we have a Vegan Omelette that non vegans will also drool over. Various Vegan Cheeses to astound everyone. I have made the Mature Cheddar Cheese twice now and it is far superior than any shop bought Vegan Cheese, no complicated or unheard of ingredients, incredibly easy to make and the result is the closest EVER to dairy cheese, it has the taste and the tang.

Miriam is THE visionary vegan chef and I will be waiting in anticipation for her next book

I ordered my copy of "Mouthwatering Vegan" the other day via Kindle and haven't put it down yet. I can tell you from personal experience that the Bolognese sauce IS the "Best Ever." It is now the official sauce of choice in our house. Ninety-nine percent of the ingredients in this book are easily obtainable as well and I'm having a blast tracking down some of the ingredients with which I'm not so familiar. We have been vegetarian for 28 years and have recently made the shift to Vegan...this book makes that transition oh-so-very easy. Keep writing cookbooks, Ms. Sorrell and I'll keep buying them!

How far the vegan diet has come! Now we vegans can eat "cheese" and "meaty" dishes without the cruelty. If you are thinking is this book worth it the answer is YES! If you are afraid you will miss cheese and that is keeping you from that final vegan plung then now is the time. For the rest of you wondering about the vegan diet and what you might miss if you stop eating meat then fear not Miriam has you covered!
