Présentation de l'éditeur

Geoff Bond’s book "Natural Eating" surprises us by questioning many fondly held beliefs. Human beings have forgotten how they should be feeding themselves. Instead we are misled by the nutritional establishment which is blinkered by poor science, cultural conditioning, and by commercial vested interests. The book cuts through the hype, misinformation and confusion to teach the basic, simple truth about how humans should be feeding themselves. It is neither just a quick fix nor a new diet; it is much more – it is a way of life! It will change the practitioner’s life around. It will optimize his life chances for health, vitality and longevity. It avoids the health destroying distortions of fad diets.

Many people want to eat right but are confused by the conflicting messages. Natural Eating gives us the tools to see the truth clearly. It all becomes simple when we make our decisions based on the knowledge of what it means to be a human being. We now know the origins of the human species, its ideal feeding pattern and how we can emulate this in today’s world. There are many surprises. Many foods that both the public and conventional nutritionists consider a normal, even essential part of the diet, are making us sick. We need to sharply reduce them, even ban them completely. We need to give more emphasis to others. As Geoff Bond says "our Pleistocene ancestors KNEW they were living in a dangerous place. Today, we are like lambs to the slaughter. The average supermarket is just as dangerous a place to find food as the savannahs of East Africa. We need to be just as skilful as our ancestors in making wise choices."

"Natural Eating" is already highly popular in Europe and is being published in several languages.

Biographie de l'auteur

Geoff Bond graduated with first and second degrees in applied sciences from London University in the early 1960's. He spent many years living among primal peoples in Africa and other parts of the globe. From his research on human origins and our ancient nutritional heritage, Geoff has become a recognized authority on what it means to be human in lifestyle terms. Geoff’s message is scientifically rigorous and cutting-edge. Its conclusions, although surprising, are thoroughly documented in the scientific literature. Geoff operates from the island of Cyprus and speaks frequently in Europe and America. He is a regular lecturer for doctors’ continuing education programs. Geoff’s books are reference works for lifestyle anthropology and the mastering of degenerative disease.

There is a lot of information about nutrition and proper diet on the market and I find it all very confusing and contradictory. Natural Eating, it seems, is the culmination of Geoff Bond's entire life's work studying how peoples all over the world eat and stay healthy.
When I put into practice just one of the suggestions, I lost 5 pounds. Weight loss was not my aim, but I suppose the body just starts letting go of excess when it is getting fed properly. When I put into place 5 or 6 principles, I lost another 5 pounds, and started waking up earlier naturally. I no longer craved food, I had a breakthrough in my hypoglycemia and I felt as though I was working with the rhythms of my body instead of always fighting against.
I think most importantly, the author gives you the history/foundation/science of his findings based on years of travel all over the world, studying primitive and modern cultures in thriving and ailing countries. In a nutshell, he studies the way the human being is built (shape of teeth, hands, digestive system) and derives what eating patterns fit us as a species. It's fascinating to consider that we are built to eat fruit partly because our hands are built to pick a piece from the tree, our teeth are shaped to cut through a carrot and so forth. The information is sound and useful. The recipe suggestions are excellent. The lists of foods are organized and easy to put into your kitchen immediately.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book. It has altered the way I fuel my body.

The work of Geoff Bond stands head and shoulders above any other work I have read on the subject of proper diet. The book is incredible well researched, and very well written. More than that it contains cutting edge information that can literally save one's life. Lose weight, gain energy, enjoy eating more, live a longer and healthier life. This one is a must read!

Since being diagnosed with Epilepsy 6 years ago I have devoted much of my spare time reading everything I can about health and our bodies in hopes of finding a cure for my disorder. As I would read these books, scientific abstracts, articles ranging from old folk remedies to the latest new age promises, a voice inside kept telling me to go back to the beginning. Back to the very basics of life. Before there were doctors and drug companies. Before there were fast food restaurants and big food companies. To rediscover what my body is and how it works. Look at myself as the animal as I am. And as that animal, what do I need to survive. But where do I start. The answer was to read Geoff Bond's book "Natural Eating". His book took me back to the very beginning. Within those 234 pages I learned about the evolution of our species in terms of our diet and our health. I learned that if we continue to eat the way we are doing soon we may find ourselves on the endangered species list. And for myself I learned Natural Eating also means Natural Healing. Thank you Mr. Bond.

I'm reading the book and am really enjoying it. To be honest, I expected it to be just another nutritional book, but instead I'm reading it with great interest. What I hadn't expected was the absolutely interesting account of history and anthropology. The author's expertise and research is enormous. Of course there is admiration on my part, but regardless, I truly find the way of writing fascinating. It will surely inspire me to do more. I hope this book gets properly promoted. I really feel it deserves it.

I guess it took a nutritional anthropologist to provide a sensible perspective to what we eat -- even though Mr. Bond is asking me to give up, or greatly cut down, on many things I have always liked!
Relating what is best for us to our "ancient ancestors" who are not that far removed from us generationally, Mr. Bond has touched a chord of logic in my mind. This is not about losing weight, it is about good health, and that makes good sense to me.
