Biographie de l'auteur

Dr Kevin Lau D.C. is a graduate in Doctor of Chiropractic from RMIT University in Melbourne Australia and Masters in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health in USA. He is a member of the Chiropractic Association of Australia the peak body representing chiropractors and exists to recognise expertise, support professional development, influence health policy and uphold the core values of chiropractic. He was the first in Singapore to provide a non-surgical treatment for scoliosis in Singapore 2005. During this time he has been devoted to developing, practicing, and teaching others about the principles of integrative medicine. He has completed 3 thesis on "Scoliosis and Exercise", "Scoliosis and Nutrition" and "The role of calcium and vitamin D in the prevention of low bone density and Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) in prepubertal women." With his research into spinal conditions he is the published author of "Health in Your Hands - Your Plan for Natural Scoliosis Prevention and Treatment" and is a regular contributor in Young Parents, Live Well, Herworld and Medical Grapevine Magazines. Dr. Lau combines a university education and a lifetime of practicing natural and preventive medicine to provide a unique approach to health care which encompasses body, mind, and spirit. Great book! I really enjoyed reading it.
It encourages you to take the matter in your own hands by following nutrition advice and a variety of exercises customized to your specific needs. Even if you don't suffer from scoliosis, you should find precious advice on what to do and not to do on a daily basis. I'll definitely advise my friends to read it! I also enjoyed reading about the background of scoliosis and the discoveries made through the years by doctors from around the world.

If you suffer from scoliosis or just want to get healthy, you should give it a try!

This weekend I am finishing up the book I purchased a couple weeks ago. The food ideas, stretches and core exercises are brilliant. I just started the stretches last night and couldn't believe the effectiveness these stretches did for me. I am confident the tools learned in this book will allow me a couple more years in my professional boxing career.

I will give the book to my mom to start reading after I finish the book later today. Her scoliosis is really bad. However, I am excited to give her something with such a positive outlook on the disease whether it helps her or not.

I love when doctors push solutions OTHER than surgery. That's the case with this book. There are so many improvements that can be done just based on diet and exercise that this book highlights. Sure, surgery might be needed in some cases but anytime you can avoid it the better. I like the practical nature of the book with the pictures that help illustrate the exercises and the specific information given on nutrition. Without a doubt, this book has the potential to improve your quality of life.
