Présentation de l'éditeur

**Nora Roberts gave her blessing to Ava Miles for the use of her name in both the title and the premise in this suspenseful and emotional contemporary romance.**

Over one million readers have fallen in love with Ava’s bestselling Dare Valley and Dare River series…come join the family.

USA Today Bestselling Author Ava Miles presents the #1 National Bestseller NORA ROBERTS LAND. Also a Top 25 Bestseller for Amazon Kindle, #1 on Barnes & Noble Nook, and Top 10 on iTunes. “I am adding Ava Miles to my list of always reads like Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis, Kristen Ashley, and NORA ROBERTS.” Marjay's Reading Blog

Journalist Meredith Hale's ex-husband claimed her Nora Roberts addiction gave her unrealistic expectations about marriage, and she believed him. All dreams of happily ever after—or Nora Roberts Land as her mother calls it—went up in smoke. But when her family asks her to temporarily help their Dare Valley, Colorado newspaper, she decides it’s time to change her life and prove her ex wrong. She's determined to find her own small-town Nora Roberts hero, prove that true love exists, and publish a story about her quest.

War correspondent Tanner McBride has just returned stateside to work for a major newspaper, and the last thing he expects is blackmail. Yet, before he can even unpack, he’s headed to Colorado. His assignment? Make his boss’s ex-wife fall for him and then break her heart. Her article about discovering love à la Nora might air dirty laundry about her marriage to the media mogul, threatening his senate run. The mogul wants Meredith stopped, and he makes sure Tanner has no choice in the matter.

When the two meet, the sparks between them are undeniable. Meredith, who vowed never to date another journalist, begins to succumb. Could Tanner be her Nora Roberts hero? As they work together to uncover the truth behind a suspicious death, the depth of their feelings unfolds and both realize they've kept their secrets for far too long. But before the truth can be revealed, their investigation takes a deadly turn, one that might make Meredith's personal Nora Roberts Land go up in flames. (love story, beach read, contemporary romance, alpha males, heroes, billionaire, romantic suspense, mystery, women’s fiction, falling in love)

All those pages of patting Nora Roberts on the shoulder... despicable. In the end I think maybe this book was just a huge joke.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Diehard fans will more than likely love it 17 septembre 2013
Par T's Book (KT Book Reviews) - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Format Kindle
Let me begin by saying that I am a major J.D. Robb fan. I have read all the In Death books more than once. The only other Nora Roberts's books I have read are the Boonsboro Inn Trilogy. For those that do not know, that amounts to over thirty books! So when I saw this book and read the cover write up I was instantly in. What fan wouldn't be? The premise is cute and trying to find a Nora love is what many hope for in life.

Meredith is dealing with an a-- of an ex and is trying to rebuild herself after a divorce. She has finally admitted to herself that it was never really love, and as he puts it, "reality and not some romance book". He just wanted her for her family name and connections.

But Meredith has a plan; she is going to find herself real romance - just like a Nora Roberts book heroine does. Armed with her confidence booster (expensive undergarments), she will become her very own super woman.

Her ex, however, has other ideas of what will happen. Scared that Meredith will use her knowledge of his past misdeeds against him in his bid for political gain, he devises a plan: find a guy to make her fall in love and then break her heart. I won't go on as you can read the cover write up and get the rest from there.

So, my real thoughts and feelings after I have read it.... meh. I liked Meredith, but her sister annoyed me to no end. Not every sentence spoken has to be a funny one and it just seemed forced to me. After the third joke in a row, it's not fun anymore. All the stores in town had to have a play on words...it just seemed like overkill.

There are MANY references to Nora Roberts's books throughout. But if you are like me and haven't read them all you won't get the references. I was left confused at times with all the comparisons. But if you are an avid fan I am sure you'll get it.

The story also unexpectedly changes directions. I didn't go in expecting a mystery to solve, but I got one. It was a bit predictable yet fun none the less.

To sum it up: diehard fans will more than likely love it. I myself give it a respectable three stars; wasn't blown out of the water, but I did enjoy it. I won't be following the series to come though.

If you've read a Nora Roberts book, you know how romantic they are, with hearts healed by love and that ever popular "Happily Ever After" ending, and the book fades to a rosy glow. The heroes are swoon-worthy, larger than life and-well, you get the picture, a "dream guy!" For journalist Meredith Hale, these books were like an addiction, she longed for "that man," a hero, someone who would love her as she is, sweep her off her feet and they would have the storybook ending. When Mere's cheating, self-centered, power-hungry, husband divorced her, he blamed everything on her Nora Roberts Land fantasies. Crushed, demoralized and totally beaten down, Mere actually begins to believe that the bulk of the failure of her marriage rested on her shoulders. when a family emergency brings her home from the big city back to her roots in Dare, population just a few thousand, she decides to test her belief in Nora Roberts land and is determined to find her Mr. Right and garner a story out of it in the process. Proving her ex wrong is like icing on a muffin, it becomes a deliciously sweet cupcake to be savored. One problem, her ex, AKA "Rick the Dick" found out about her plans, thought she was trying to ruin him and blackmailed freelance writer Tanner McBride into going undercover in Dare and making Meredith fall in love with him, then dumping her and ruining both her story, and crushing her spirit even more. And here the story takes a wild turn on the highway of life, danger, death and drugs bring these two together as a team, sparks fly between them and... grab the fire extinguisher, because the story heats up from there!

Nora Roberts Land by Ava Miles starts out fluffy but builds into a nice, solid romantic read with a hint of danger! (Okay, more than a hint, lots of danger!) Her characters are completely believable, some are larger than life, some are sweetly cliched, some are totally lovable, especially Grandpa, the wise old newspaperman, and Meredith's sister, Jill, who appoints herself as Mere's "pimp!" Ms. Miles has created a love story where REAL love can triumph over all! A perfect summer read!

2.0 étoiles sur 5 Couldn't Finish 16 octobre 2013

I admit it, the title sucked me in. I was ready to enjoy a new series on which NR put her stamp of approval.

Why I liked it: This new author certainly writes with passion and enthusiasm, and the story includes many interlocking characters, all moving toward conflicting goals that bring them into a dance of pain, revenge, hurt and betrayal. She can write, and I think she'll become very good.

Why I didn't like it and couldn't finish: The author over-uses physical reactions. The characters spend the story with guts churning, breath shutting down so that they are in danger of passing out, jaws clenching ... yes, the hero's jaw clenches many, many times. The heroine spends most of the story either in the midst of a panic attack, (which sounds very unpleasant and I could have done with one portrayal), or her legs are shaking so badly she sounds as if she's having a spastic attack. Unattractive, I would think. Her repeat motion, pretty much on par with the hero's clenching jaw, is to touch her ribs, on which she is wearing a series of corsets.

Also, the hero, who is a tough, seasoned war journalist, apparently can't dig up anything on the villain, a senatorial candidate who sleeps around with everything that moves. Instead, the hero must quell his morals and seduce the candidate's wife, thus breaking her heart. And his sister the cop knows about this. Apparently it bothers neither of them. I began to despise the hero and his sis at this time. Ick.

Finally, the candidate phones the hero repeatedly to up the ante and torture him with sleazy promises of further mayhem to hero's baby brother, who has a checkered past and an innocent family. During these long chats, the hero must clench his jaw and say nothing to anger this villain. I'm thinking if baby bro was married when he committed the acts with which villain is blackmailing his family, his wife would have to be pretty stoo-pid not to know he did them. So he should man up and tell her himself. With big bro and big sis standing behind him and his family for support.

As far as secondary characters, the heroine has a younger sister who pokes her nose into everyone's business, does lots of wild dancing in public and has an on/off, love/hate thing with an old boyfriend. I sort of hoped that someone would slip her a tranquilizer, and that the old boyfriend would realize she has the mental age of a ten-year old and move the heck on.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 An ode to Nora Roberts and La Perla 24 juillet 2014

So the heroine, her self esteem at an all-time low after a divorce from her cheating husband, moves back home from the big city in order to prove that "Nora Roberts Land" exists. That is, that she can find Mr. Perfect within three months, in order to write a story about it. (Not to mention that her editor at the newspaper/magazine/whatever she is working for is actually willing to pay her for this.) In order to achieve her goal, she wears a selection of La Perla bustiers and dates every single man within reach apart from the one she feels attracted to. Yes. Sigh. And it goes on and on and on, with various obstacles and a few bad guys thrown in, which keep the heroine and the hero from getting into each other's pants. Will they get over it all and FINALLY live happily ever after? If you have nothing at all to do and are very bored and have run out of other free Kindle books, go ahead and find out. Otherwise, just skip this one.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Really something awful 26 mai 2014

The premise of this book is improbable for the times we live in. A cheating journalist senatorial candidate that is black mailing another journalist over an ex-brother in laws infidelities? Seriously? When we have an ex president that gets away with it and the world forgives and forgets? Plus she ignores the “family” of journalists that could have put two and two together and written a scathing expose on the jerk? That might have been a book that was worth reading.

On top of it the story is slow and boring. This author needs to get a grip on how to tighten up her plotlines and not throw in superfluous junk like what type of underwear you have on.

The NR references are a great plug for NR but did nothing for this book but prove that the author has read them all. Bottom line is I didn’t care what happened to these people and gave up. This one wasn’t even worth skimming to the end. Save your money for the next Nora Roberts.
