Présentation de l'éditeur

Navy Captain Wes Masters, newly posted to head the White House Medical Unit, is a physician with only one patient, but her job is twenty-four/seven. Her charge is simple—protect and preserve the well-being of the most powerful man in the world—the president of the United States. As the First Physician, Wes must travel by President Andrew Powell's side, in the hot zone, with everything she needs to save his life if he is injured or falls ill. Her job gets even harder when she has to prove she is up to the task to Secret Service Agent Evyn Daniels, a member of the elite Presidential Protection Detail, and a woman who challenges Wes on more than just the professional front. Evyn isn't happy about inserting Wes into PPD, especially when Wes gets the post Evyn believes should go to her good friend Dr. Peter Chang. The stakes get even higher for all involved when Homeland Security Deputy Director Cameron Roberts is brought in to investigate a possible security breach, and everyone, including Evyn, is a suspect.

A First Responders Novel.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 What's up with Radclyffe? 30 août 2012
Par Amazon Customer - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format:Broché
I've read most, if not all of Radclyffe's books. This one just doesn't live up to her high standards, by a long shot. The characters aren't fleshed out--you can't connect emotionally with either of them. And, while it's cool that she wove in characters from the Cam/Blair series, there was too much of their personal life and not enough of the two main characters--Wes and Evyn. It's like she didn't have enough of a story to focus on them entirely. So, a lot of what could have been written about their relationship to develop it, to make it more full, to make the reader understand who they each were and why they'd be attracted to each other (like deeper character histories, etc.) didn't get included.

As a result, I found myself putting the book aside and forcing myself to finish it because I bought it. I kept hoping that it would get better. And I agree with the other writer. Where have Radclyffe's steamy sex scenes gone. This book was just so-so for that. If the story had been better, it wouldn't have mattered as much, but we need something.

The plot was also very predictable with none of the usual Radclyffe turns like, "Whoa! I didn't see that coming!" Her last First Responders novel was kind of like that, but not as bad. This just didn't have any oomph to it at all. Hate to say it, but it bordered on boring, and that's not Radclyffe at all. Think back to Passion's Bright Fury, Fated Love, or Turn Back Time, and you'll know what I mean. This doesn't measure up. Sorry to say that, because I'm a HUGE Radclyffe fan.

Bluntly, this book felt like it was just "phoned in" and written to satisfy a commitment of some sort, which is ironic since Radclyffe is the publisher. Just wasn't up to her usual standards. I guess that's what happens when you're so prolific. Maybe we shouldn't expect that same magic every time, but it's just disappointing when it's not there.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 same old song and dance 17 août 2012

sorry to say... but not a good read. I'm on 209 page (my last likely) and cant stomach anymore. Radclyffe 'is' very good writer, but how many books can be about the same old song and dance and dont forget that you have to read all previous books to even know who is who and what the hell is going on.
If i read one more "she is soo glorius, but we cant and we have to keep it professional" i'm gonna scream.
There is too many good books on 'the lesbian' shelf right now to make this one a priority

I read every book Radclyffe writes and can't wait for the next one. That said, this book was boring! I kept thinking I had missed a chapter or something as I couldn't really get excited about the plot or the characters. There was no excitment or anticipation and I was left wondering what the heck happened at the end. I love all her series especially but I think is one that should just be a one book deal.

I'm a loyal, true blue Rad fan, and I know she wouldn't want me to lie. This book is by far her weakest offering. I found myself scratching my head, wondering who's trying to play a joke on me--this reads like a neophyte trying to do Radclyffe. I will be ever so sorry if this signals the end of the Radclyffe era--I'm going to reserve further comments until I read her next book. Its quality will tell the tale, but this one is best left on the shelf.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 what has happened to all my authors 10 juillet 2012
Par bug - Publié sur Amazon.com

Radclyffe is almost always a sure thing, but the last couple of books I have not been able to connect with the characters are all. Did someone tell Radclyffe to change how she writes sex scenes because it is not all all what it use to be. There is no sexual tension or buildup. Those scenes are definitely lagging in heat. I enjoyed the characters from the other series showing up, but got quickly tired of the undying love vows they had going constantly. In this book I felt like I missed a section and never could figure out if one of the main characters was a virgin or virgin to lesbian sex or to "the intense emotions she was feeling"(sarcasm heavy on that last part). The plot on the threat was a good story line, but overall found myself starting to skim the book to get done already. Please Radclyffe return to how you wrote in the past with the sexual tension so intense you could cut it with a knife and scenes so well written the reader would return to them again and again. I have your next book already marked on the Calender and will get it the day it comes out because I know when you get it right its GREAT.
