Présentation de l'éditeur

There are all sorts of idiots we have to work with every day. Every office has them. Fortunately for most of us idiots in the work place are few and far between. However, Hogsbottom Plugs, 'the home of bath plugs' has a higher concentrate than other work places, from the MD down to the cleaner, they’re all Idiots.

Read the trails and tribulations of this idiotic workforce as they explain their recent life events through reviews of things they’ve brought. There's Donald, who try as hard as does simply cannot get the office junior to notice him, let alone drink some of his special, sleeping tablet ladened tea. Learn how Jeff, gets his own back on the people who mock him by re-enacted a video he saw on Youtube involving Seagulls and watch on in horror as the over-worked cleaner tries to solve the mystery of who is making his job of cleaning the toilets worse than a job cleaning toilets is already.

If you've ever worked in an office, then this is the book for you. You'll recognise the office sex pest, the liar and the moaning admin worker who's been there longer than the chairs. Written in the form of product reviews, The Office Idiot Reviews is the second in the series of 'Idiot Review' Books from Pete Sortwell.

"Many books claim to be 'Laugh out Loud' This one is." Amazon Reviewer.

Biographie de l'auteur

Pete is 32 and lives with his wife, Lucie, and their pet sofa, Jeff. He's been writing for just under three years and they've been pretty eventful; well, more eventful than he thought sitting on Jeff, typing, would be, anyway. First published in the Radgepacket anthology with a story he'd written during month five of his new hobby, Pete's now featured in a total of ten different anthologies and has been amongst some very fine company. (Although I've been the best in all of them, I know that because both my Mum and Jeff told me and they're both honest-to-God Christians ... possibly.) Author of comedy e-books 'The Village Idiot Reviews', 'The Office Idiot Reviews' and 'The Idiot Government Reviews', 'More Village idiot Reviews.' These books sell more than he ever thought they would, and he's hooked. 'Dating in the Dark' is Pete's first self-published novel. His traditionally published novel, 'So Low, So High', was published by Caffeine Nights in June 2013.

This second in the Idiot Reviews series is every bit as good as the first one (Village Idiot Reviews) all that's really changed is the location.

Office personalities and dramas are told via the reviews on Amazon (Yes I am aware of the irony of my own review) and Sortwell has created a marvellously clever and unique series which goes from strength to strength. I am already looking forward to the next installment as I loved the overview of the dysfunctial bunch of office workers.

The tight prose and short story nature fo the reviews drives the pace along and I read this in one sitting.

I read this is one sitting and thought it was an hilarious send up on the banalities of office life . Even if you've never worked in an office this book will make you crack up with laughter. Looking forward to next one.

This is a review of The Office Idiot Reviews (A laugh out loud comedy book)

This book tells the story of Office-based relationships prefaced by reviews of products available on Amazon.

This is the second book by Pete Sortwell, following on from The Village Idiot Reviews, which has a similar original concept, though the books are different in a number of respects.

The characters in this book are all employed by Norman Hogsbottom, owner of a bath-plug manufacturing company, and each chapter starts with a link to a product genuinely available on Amazon, and then goes on to tell the story of a number of office relationships, and the relevance of the product to that relationship.

Meet John the Cleaner, Margaret, Jeff, Sandy and a host of others. Each character has his/her own foibles, fears and desires. All, without exception, hate Mr Hogsbottom, who sees himself as a David Brent-type success story, who alienates with every utterance.

This is a hilarious read from start to finish. As the story unfolds, it becomes more outrageous but at the same time, it is darkly humourous with characters that will be easily recognized by anyone who has ever worked in an office. It is a real page-turner.

Like his earlier book, The Village Idiot Reviews, this is a very original concept, and is fully deserving of it's 5 star rating.

5 stars for this original concept.

This book is hilarious. I've never seen such dysfunction in an office told through the lense of reviews. The stories make you guffaw, especially from the poor janitor and the office "Romeo".

The beauty of setting this up as a series of Amazon reviews is that the book lends itself to skimming and cherry picking. The first review is very funny, with the clueless review picking up steam and getting odder and more amusing as it builds. The second review is sort of obvious toilet humor, but it has its moments. The third review has a few bits of inspired lunacy. And so it goes. You can follow the action at the office, focus on the bits that you find most appealing, and have a very entertaining time. Very nice. (Please note that I found this book while browsing Amazon Kindle freebies. I have no connection at all to either the author or the publisher of this book.)
