Oil pulling is something I recently discovered. It is something your dentist won't tell you about even though he/she should. I have an Indian doctor and she has also never told me about this fantastic way to have better health even though this is an Ayurvedic practice.

Swishing coconut oil around in your mouth for even as little as five minutes a day can have a big effect. I've seen my teeth totally whiten in a matter of weeks and my gum health has never been better.

If the word periodontitis strikes terror into your heart you need to read a book on oil pulling. Now some things in this book seem to indicate that the time of day is important. I have not found that to be the case. I do oil pulling at night as part of my dental hygiene routine. I also brush first, floss next and swish with salt water afterwards. That seems to work best for me. This author seems to indicate that you have to do everything in the morning. Well not everyone is awake enough to oil pull in the morning. That is all I have to say about that.

The author also recommends one tablespoon but I find that one teaspoon of oil is quite enough. If you are excited about staying healthy then oil pulling is something you should discover.

The only concern I had was the information about tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is very toxic and should not be put in your mouth or swallowed. I hate to say it but I made the mistake of putting one drop of tea tree oil on a tooth that was hurting and I ended up in a near coma for a day. I literally slept for 22 hours. Very bad. So don't do it young person. Even if this book says it is OK I've read otherwise. And personal experience is a real revelation. Just use coconut oil and you'll be very happy with the results.

i am a big fan of alternative treatment. Until today, I haven't heard of Oil Pulling. So, I brought this book to give it a shot. This book is an easy read and carefully explains why oil pulling is essential, benefits and how to practice oil pulling every morning. There are tons of do s and don't s which will help you to practice oil pulling in the correct way. Overall, a great book that has all the information about oil pulling. I have tried it today morning and I can tell that I feel a difference.

Very quick read that contains a lot of good info. Only thing I would have liked to have seen would have been the exact name of studies quoted, who performed them and where they were performed, but still an interesting quick read with a lot of detail on oil pulling. Not a subject I'm familiar with, so I found this interesting.

This book teaches everything about Oil Pulling. Will help you understand its concepts and how this thing works. It involves swishing oil in your mouth for 20 minutes and spit it out then rinsing it with water before brushing. Oil Pulling is an easy and effective way to improve the oral health. According to ancient Ayurveda, dental health of a person is seen more as a sum total of the individual’s health. This book suggests the best oil to use when oil pulling, included some do's and don'ts. Awesome tips and tricks to a better body mouth connection. This book offers tons of interesting information that I find valuable.

I LOVE coconut. But swishing the oil (I warmed it enough so it was mostly liquid) & I set a kitchen timer for 10 min. A little after 5, I started to gag bc it hit the back of my throat. So even 5 1/2 min was not easy. I would recommend going 5 min, 8, 10...space it out a bit so u get used to it. :) inasmuch, it was an informative book.
