I bought the Kindle edition of this book and was really disappointed by the product.
The file is not divided into proper chapters, it is therefore not possible to jump from chapter to chapter which makes it really difficult to navigate into the book.
It does not include the bonus content from the CD that is offered with the printed version of the book which means that there are no exam samples included and that we don't have access to the PDF version of the book.
Knowing that Kindles books are DRM protected and do not allow copy&pasting nor printing, it is really hard to do a resume of the important points of the books to study it.
The content has not been adapted to the format, the book is talking about the bonus content while the bonus content is not available (which makes its lack even more frustrating).
Knowing that the Kindle & the print version of the book are sold at more or less the same price, i really think it is a shame.
I used this book as my sole study material, and passed all 3 exams...I didn't "ace" them, but I did pass. I read and re-read it several times, created a test database and worked the exercises, did the end of chapter quizes and did the practice exam. The material presented was complete and the examples and exercises supported the material. Almost every question on the OCP exams was covered in the book. But on the downside, I found a number of errors from little typos to a couple of wrong answers on the practice exams, but those things seem to be common in this type of book. There are also a number of questions that are worded in an odd way that makes it difficult to figure out what is being asked. The actual Oracle exam questions are worded better and are more clear. The test exam had more "trivia" questions than the ocp exam.
You can pass the exams using only this book, but you will need to really work all the examples. I would recommend that you create a test database to work the exercises and then work them again, until you really understand how it works.
