Présentation de l'éditeur

Deep in blackest space, the Drasin have watched humanity’s journey to the stars—and determined that a species as barbaric as ours has no place in the cosmos.

The wreckage of the starship Odyssey, once Earth’s greatest guardian, lies strewn across New York City. Abandoned by all but its captain, Odyssey’s sacrifice covered the withdrawal of countless troops as the Drasin assault ravaged the planet. When Captain Eric Weston finally emerges from the rubble, impossibly alive thanks to the mysterious “Gaia,” he knows with the Drasin it’s kill or be killed.

But not all of the heavens have proven hostile. The Priminae have felt the full brunt of Drasin aggression on their own home world, and they won’t leave humanity to face annihilation alone. Together with what’s left of the crews of the Odyssey and other starships, they race to join Weston and his group of Earth-bound survivors for a desperate last stand.

The final battle of the Drasin War brings bestselling author Evan Currie’s Odyssey One series to its shattering conclusion.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Good Job, looking forward to the next book in this series (even if it's the beginning of a new arc in the story). 8 juillet 2014

Bought the book upon release, downloaded it at 8am central time, finished it as 12:10pm. Right around 4 hours. You captured my attention and held it long enough for me to read the book in 4 hours. That's the mark of a very well written story. Well done for the final book in this arc. Left enough hanging so that the beginning of the next arc will easily fall into line with this one. Thanks for another great read and keep them coming.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Good Sci Fi Series 10 juillet 2014

Before you pick up this book, please recognize it is a continuation of a series: you need to read the first book in the series titled Into the Black (Odyssey One, Book 1) [Remastered Edition](just click on the hyperlink on the book's name to be taken to the Kindle version of book one of the series).

Overall this is a good installment to the series but, without having a spoiler, it did seem to drag quite a bit and at the 35% mark on my Kindle I was questioning if I wanted to continue reading it because it was just one agonizingly slow land-based battle with foot soldiers vs. anything really resembling science fiction or the previous installments of the series. However, I'm glad I stayed with it as the action slowly picked up steam and then really accelerated to a nice ending. An ending which, despite what we thought when reading this was supposed to be the conclusion, leads you to believe there will be a continuation of the saga.

Despite my comments above regarding the first part of the book being really slow, if you enjoyed the series so far you should like this latest installment. I did, and I'm looking forward to where the author's imagination takes us next.

2.0 étoiles sur 5 I enjoyed the first three volumes of this series 14 juillet 2014

I enjoyed the first three volumes of this series, however, now with the fourth one, the first half of the book is almost unreadable, continuous street fighting, nothing else. There is a lot of swearing in the book, over 20 f... words, over 30 sh... etc.
The story is very weak. For example, throughout the Odyssey Book 3 - Homeworld, we read about the mysterious IMPERIAL people, the DESTROYER DEMIGOD. Close the end of the story the destroyer Commander Ivanth decides to stay and watch "until the drones have eliminated the main world"... One would expect to hear again in this volume about those enigmatic people who brought the Drasin to this part of our galaxy and who are obviously observing everything - but NOTHING at all.
To me it looks as if the book was written by somebody else...
I don't understand that so many people are giving 4 or even 5 stars out of 5.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 a satisfying read left wanting 10 juillet 2014

I came across this series just a few days ago, read the first three, and picked up the 4th in the series when it came out on July 8th.I really enjoyed the 4 books and if enjoy military sci fi I can say with confidence you'll enjoy this series as well. My only complaint is the series has offered up a lot of questions and has to date answered none of them. Hopefully in future installments those will be forthcoming. Who or what are the planetary minds, the exodus of the Pimms 15,000 years ago, if Earth was their original planet or another, what is the mysterious Empire, and on and on I could go. Overall though if these questions would have been answered I would have given the series a solid 5 stars but seeing as though the author is teasing us( or heaven for bid doesn't have the answers) I could only give this 4 stars. 4 books is too long of a wait for answers.

I had been waiting for this book for many months and I can say it didn't disappoint. Captain Weston seems to have stepped outside his comfort zone initially but it all flows nicely. I did detect some Sorilla moments in there!!
