A wonderful introduction to the Paleo Diet, this book answers the basic question, "What is the Paleo Diet," addresses the benefits, and lists the foods that you should eat as well as those you should avoid. Then comes the best part...the recipes. They are delectable! And sectioned into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack and Dessert! Wonderful book!

Easy to understand, easy recipes and fun to prepare. Nice to have so many great recipes for those of us on the Paleo diet. Definitely a purchase for a beginner or someone who might be on the fence about whether they wish to start the Paleo lifestyle. Also great for the expert Paleo person. The pictures are great and it makes for easy and fun cooking.

Tasty sounding recipes! I have tried a few of them already and I must admit it is going to take some getting used to gluten free & no sugar. The recipes are very easy to follow & sound very healthy! I look forward to trying each one of them! A very nice start for beginners!

I wouldn't call this the "ultimate" guide for beginners. It gives a good enough overview of the "what," but it doesn't give much information on the "why." For those who are looking for a bit more scientific information on the reasons the paleo lifestyle is beneficial, this book probably isn't the right one for you. It touches upon the reasons at a very basic level, but someone like me wants to see scientific information to be convinced that something is going to be safe. That said, for the price point, it does an adequate job of explaining the basic tenets of a paleo lifestyle.

Additionally, the book didn't touch upon the quality of the meats one should buy. While I think conventionally farmed meat is better than processed food for sure, and while even those who can't afford or get access to organic, pastured meats can go paleo...some mention of the importance of finding the best quality meat possible would have been good.

That said, I gave this book four stars because it has recipes that sound like food people actually want to eat. Most paleo guides, websites, etc... have recipes with obscure ingredients you have to special order or drive all over town to find. Many have 800 steps involved, and most of the time they are dishes most people wouldn't want to eat right out of the gate. Someone who is just coming off a diet comprised mainly of heavily processed food isn't going to jump right in and start eating liver puree, or be the type of person who just happens to have jicama and tallow lying around the kitchen. This book speaks to real beginners. People who want to live a healthier lifestyle, but who want to ease into the transition with paleo versions of their favorite meals. This book has THAT.

The recipes were easy to follow. They had ingredients you actually have a chance of finding in your typical grocery store, and they are ingredients you could pretty much DEFINITELY find in a Whole Foods market. I saw very few recipes that had more than five or six ingredients, and the steps didn't require a professionally equipped kitchen. Point blank: the author included plenty of food that real people with real budgets and real lives can easily prepare and enjoy. If you're looking to make the leap into the paleo lifestyle, and are having a hard time finding recipes you feel confident enough to try, this book is for you.

Very fun recipes for your Paleo Diet. Easy to use this book to aid in recipes and keep it interesting. Love how it explains about the diet in the beginning and helps you understand it a little bit more as well. Great book for beginning Paleo
