Book Description
Pedro Almodovar is Spain's leading film-maker. His radical, genuinely innovative style and unswerving interest in every manifestation of human sexuality were born in the heady days after the death of Franco. This book looks at Almodovar's love of kitsch and camp, setting his portrayal of human love and lust in all their forms against the background of a cultural revolution which ushered postmodernity into Spain before the country had even any clear notion of what modernity might entail. The book covers his earliest experiments in super 8 and his writings, and draws upon interviews previously only available in Spanish.
