San Francisco Sourdough recipe:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. You're given ingredients for an egg wash, but nowhere in the recipe does it say when/how to do the egg wash. Then, "bake on center rack for 40 minutes at 300. Kick it up to 400 to finish."
So do I start at 300, or 325?

Fig Flats Recipe:
Says to preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly oil 2 nine-inch cake pans. Then the ingredients are listed, and you mix everything and chill the dough in the fridge. Then you're told to "take out and roll then flatten. Lace with oil of choice and place in oven on baking sheet at 450 degrees."
Wait - is it 350, or 450 degrees? That's a huge difference!! And do I bake them on a baking sheet or in the cake pans?

Beet Sweet Purple Bread:
Ingredients include 1/2 cup beet juice, and 1/4 cup apple shreds. Instructions mention whisking "beet shreds" with dry ingredients. - I thought it was beet *juice* and apple *shreds*?

Chocolate Green Tea Pistachio Bread:
Calls for 1/4 cup green tea. Just to be clear- is that brewed, or just the dry leaves? I'm assuming it's brewed, but it'd be nice if you had specified exactly.

And the Spinach Pecan Naan was so incredibly salty that my family refused to eat it as-is. We smothered them in honey to choke them down. Next time I'm going to leave out the salt entirely.

And if you're going to tell people to whisk all the dry ingredients together and set aside, then mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl, it'd be nice if all the dry ingredients were listed together first, followed by all the wet ingredients listed together second.

All of the books in this series have great reviews, so I thought I'd try one out. Hey, for 99 cents, it's hard to go wrong. Based on the description, and the cover pic, I was hoping dude has made some amazing strides toward truly terrific paleo bread. First I downloaded a sample. Bummer, no sample recipe, unlike most books I've tried. Ok, fine. I'll bite anyway. 99 cents, remember? But when I started to scroll through, I realized that it was pretty much a rework of the same ol', same ol'. And to make things worse? NO ACTUAL PICTURES OF THE RECIPES. I have no idea if the cover pic is legit (though I doubt it!), but I'm not going to rush out and cook something without a picture. Sorry, man. I'm probably not going to buy any of the other books now. Bummer.

The inconvenience of bread-free meals has been answered with a bang! This book has great recipes for breads that are all Paleo-friendly and I can sleep better knowing my kids are able to eat sandwiches for lunch while still staying grain-free. I really enjoyed the banana bread recipe in this book and my kids did too! If the kids love it, it has to be good!

This author has not actually tried to make the recipes listed in this text. I tried 3 recipes as they were in the text, and not a one of them was actually suitable as a bread. I did go through and start modifying the recipes... Start to cut the almond flour with 50% almond flour and 50% alternative finer grained flour. I used golden flax flour or buckwheat flour which are non-cereal grains and gluten-free. They do classify as psuedo grains, however they keep the structural integrity of the products trying to be made with it. You can attempt coconut flour or even fufu flour (mix of cocoyam/plantain & casava flour) instead if you wish to avoid 'all' grains.

These Paleo cookbooks always have the best recipes to help my daughter who CRAVES bread, but can't have gluten or dairy due to diseases. But she LOVES these breads and is completely satisfied with all her "healthy" bread options! Thank you to anyone and everyone that helps out this unimaginative mom bake goods that my kids CAN eat!
