It is easy to follow and understand, both for troubleshooting and instruction. I have looked at and reviewed several aftermarket manuals for P6, and this one is BY FAR the one I would most recommend!
I have also used this and earlier versions of the Primavera books for the past 6 years as a reference guide and this is coming from someone that has been using the enterprise software (P3e) since 2001 at an advanced level.
In my opinion this is easily the best book on the market for explaining some of the sometimes very tricky concepts involved with using this software.
Whenever I have turned up on site over the past couple of years, it is not uncommon to find that someone has bought a copy of the book and taught themselves how to use the software.
It will be very obvious to anyone reading the book that it has been developed by someone that has been using the software on real jobs and is not just a theoretical planner or scheduler working in some large publishing house.
Paul has a knack of breaking down and explaining in a clear and logical manner how to best use the software to achieve realistic and achievable programmes.
If you can understand and practice half of what is outlined in the book you will be well ahead of most of the other planners and schedulers around.
His books have become an invaluable asset in my day to day learning and utilisation of the software. In particular I like the extremely detailed index at the back of the books that provide a quick method of searching for topics that I am having difficulty with as well as listing all the related topics. I have not come across this detailed indexing in any other book I have used.
I have also found that the workshops with answers though out the book are a practical way to ensure that I am operating the software correctly.
I highly recommend the purchase of this or any of Paul E Harris' books for the purposes of learning how to use planning and scheduling software.
