Book by one of top 20 Designers in the World in this Millennium 7 janvier 2014
Par Miriomnibus - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Relié Achat vérifié
This book is written by the famous designer, Jay Spectre. The front quarter is of his personal homes, starting with his first apartments in NYC where he used corrugated sheet metal on his walls and dark stained floors with a deep eggplant enamel on the ceiling. The rest of the book is of homes, condominiums, apartments, boats and jets all done by Mr. Spectre. Architectural Digest let him use the photographs of these venues, which he chose to put in this book. The book also showcases his line of furniture done in conjunction with Bloomingdales and Century. It's a lovely book to display on a coffee table. There are a few books that are now available after the deaths of two of his favorite clients, the Director of Marketing and Sales at Bloomingdales and the innovative couple who started Weight Watchers. These individuals did not have family so their personals are for sale thus you can pick up one of the autographed issues of his book or a new clean one. Either way, you will not be unhappy with this book. It's one of the best looks into the talent of Mr. Spectre. Since he is no longer available to design for you after an early death at age 63, his book can be your primer. He was not an educated man, in fact he only went to school through grade twelve and that was by the hardest because his love was to skip school and frequent the movie theatre to watch old movies of his favorite actors and actresses, who he considered his friends. At his CT home the living room was over three thousand square feet of art deco with his own furniture for his guests which often were actresses like Jane Powell, Arleen Dahl, and the very famous pianist Bobby Short, who came to Mr. Spectre's party's and regaled the guests with music on his full size Baby Grand. Needless to say, this book is one of the only treasures that you may purchase since he did have heirs: his sister, Rena Spectre Marcus and her husband, Elliott Marcus and their three children. So enjoy your piece of his history.
