Book Description
Boomerang Love describes how the partner of the BPD person repeatedly leaves the relationship, only to return to it -- again and again -- desperately trying to fix an illness they don't even know the name of and which only the BPD can fix, with professional mental health help.
Poignantly illustrated with Ashleigh Brilliant's famous Pot Shots (R), Boomerang Love is a book the reader will return to time and time again -- to be uplifted, encouraged, healed and empowered.
About the author
Melville believes that repeatedly leaving and then returning to a painful relationship with another person is a sign that something is seriously wrong -- we just haven't known what that something is.
Melville believes that our culture is essentially color blind to the behavior of narcissistic Borderline Personality Disordered (BPD) people. Few know that there is an actual name and mental health diagnosis for the hurtful behavior that BPDs inflict on their partners in relationships. With the awareness that her Boomerang Love book generates about BPD, Melville hopes that families will seek professional mental health assistance sooner, both for themselves and the BPDs they love.
Melville has served as executive director of the Mental Health Association in her home town. Working with an all-volunteer board and community volunteers, she worked to educate the public about mental health issues. She has also served on numerous charitable boards and with many non-profit organizations. She currently works as a long term care insurance agent and resides in the Central Coast region of California.
