Présentation de l'éditeur

From the bestselling author of The Gentry Boys...

Angela Durant never saw a future in Cross Point Village, her fading New England hometown. She got out as soon as she could and fought her way to success in the Boston business world, playing it safe all the while.
Until now.
Jolted by an unexpected betrayal, Angela retreats to Cross Point for a long summer weekend.
That's where she connects with Marco, the biker bad boy from high school yesteryear.
Sexy, volatile and utterly uninterested in playing anything 'safe', Marco seems to be intent on getting his curvy neighbor to loosen her inhibitions.
But reckless desire has consequences.
And what began as casual lust can turn deep and complicated.
In the heart of everything she always wanted to escape, Angela just might find the life she never knew she'd been searching for.

*This sexy novel takes place in the late 1980s and is filled with pop culture references of the time. Intended for readers over the age of 18 as adult language and mature themes are explored.*

I found this book after trolling thru Amazon looking for a new read, and am I ever glad I downloaded this one! It wasn't even close to what I was expecting, it was so much more. Angela's and Marco's story is a delightful mix of humor, snarky comments, tears, and nostalgia. I loved that it took place during the late 80''s early 90's and before cell phones and all the trappings of our modern times. The author did an amazing job of pulling you into Angela's life as she tries to figure out just what she wants out of her life. This story was told from Angela's POV only so you never do get a chance to find out what's going thru Marco's mind as their story unfolds and that is the only thing that I wish had been touched upon. This was an emotional read and I loved every single minute do it!! I thought I was downloading a book about an MC club but other than the fact that Marco rides a bike there is nothing about MC clubs in it. It was also listed as a BBW romance but only marginal comments were made about Angela's weight. This book had everything I enjoy in a good read, humor, tears, sex ( but not over the top) , interesting secondary characters, good writing, good editing, and a no cliffhanger ending.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 You don't have to run away from home to find freedom or happiness...brilliant! 11 décembre 2014

"If you asked ten thousand couples you'd hear ten thousand tales. And they might all be pretty damn close to the same love story, with slight variations, each perhaps told a little bit differently. This was mine."
Angela Durant, the heroine of Reckless Point's final thoughts rang so true for me...because reading this debut novel from Cora Brent brought back such vivid memories for me of my childhood, growing up in a time when parents treated their adult children like they were still teenagers and going "home" to the one who would always be yours...it made me nostalgic and teary eyed.
I probably went about things backwards since I had already read Cora Brent's three biker books and then her Gentry brothers books before I gave a look at her debut novel. Some authors start off not so great and only improve with experience...I want to make it clear that this book was just as fulfilling, full of complex and relatable characters and seriously sexy romance, as her more recent works and I absolutely LOVED every word.
When Angela catches her boyfriend with his pants down, literally, she heads home to her parents house for the 4th of July weekend alone...and back into the familiar and not-so-happy place she escaped from. Everything was the same, from the old houses to the town that seemed to be stagnant and had seen better days, to the same miserable people who lived their lives in sad acceptance and familiarity. When she sees her neighbor, town bad-boy Marco (who she grew up with and hung around with her brother) and they lock eyes after all these years, attraction that had been dormant for years flares up and let me tell you there were more flaming fireworks between them than at the 4th celebrations! I pretty much fell in love with him, Angela and their whole damn love story because it was just so well written and brought back memories of my own return "home" after being gone for many years.
There were some times where Angela's father and Marco would say similar things and you get a sense that sometimes people are way more alike than they would ever believe and no matter how old your parents are, they were once young too and probably experienced life in the same carefree way that you do...it was just so insightful.
The author's attention to details and to the histories of all the characters, made the reader feel like we really knew these people and I appreciated how we were given background stories to clarify events that were occuring as these two lovers found their way to each other.
A beautiful universal love story with a cool old time vibe (no cell phones and music that was part of my younger days) made this one a favorite for me. What an awesome debut book and sweet story about discovery and realizing that you don't have to run away from home to find freedom or happiness.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Really Good Love Story 7 août 2014

What a wonderful story about finding your other half. Angela and Marco grew up as neighbors and although they were around each other, they never considered themselves friends. Angela's big brother threatened all the guys to stay away from his sister and they listened. She's been gone for seven years now and when she comes home to her parents for an Independence Day street party, she sees him. Marco was a bad boy growing up but the attraction between them now cannot be denied. After a hot encounter, they begin seeing each other while she's in town. Only she doesn't want to leave now. Can she come back home to the place she wanted to leave? Will Marco want her to stay? Can Angela change her thinking and realize home is where you make it?

Such a sweet story. I loved watching these two fall and I fell hard for Marco who wasn't nearly as bad as everyone thought. He opened himself to Angela and you could tell he was a great guy. Angela was so dead set on leaving their small town, she didn't realize how much she could miss and love it.

My only complaint - which really isn't a complaint as such, was all the extra history and background on the town that took up a lot of pages. If I had been from there I would have appreciated it more. However, to me personally, it was just filler and I skimmed a lot of it. But the actual story about Marco and Angela was really good. I do love my happy endings. Nice standalone story with great lead characters.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 I Want More.... 6 avril 2014

This is a sweet and sexy love story. The h goes home and reconnects with the H, who she has been infatuated with since they were children. The H is a bad boy. I wish we had more of his backstory, but what was revealed explained enough. I still wanted more. The h left her small home town to go to the big city and have a better more exciting life than her home town could provide. She doesn't find what she was looking for. She goes back home to discover everything she ever wanted or needed was always right in front of her. Both the H and h were well written and likable. Actually, the whole story was well written and likable. I just wanted more. I hope this is the beginning of a series. I want to know Tony's story. Who is Captain? Who are all these bikers who come through town regularly? I love this town and it's residents. I want more! Yes, I would recommend.

First time reading this author. She did a really good job with the characters, they were real & sweet. It's not the usual gritty MC story but it was very refreshing. The love scenes were AMAZING!
