At last, an enthralling crime thriller written in good English! After quite a few of my more recent purchases that showed a total ignorance of basic English grammar and syntax it was a joy to read and proof, if proof were needed, that the genre should not be an excuse for anyone, and (it seems) everyone, to pick up a pen and write. Not everyone can although it is now fashionable to think so.
P.D. James was the perfect combination of a good writer and a brilliant story-teller, admired by all. She was the gold standard that crime fiction should aspire to. T.D. Griggs comes close.

I very much enjoyed reading this story of fall and redemption. The main characters are believable and sympathetically drawn and you find yourself willing them to get through the long darkness, brought about largely by their own failings and weaknesses, into the light of renewed love and hope. Sad to realise that the author died in 2013. A very human story which expresses equally well the humane character of the author...I warmly recommend this book.
