Présentation de l'éditeur

Most of us grow a few herbs in the garden or on the windowsill, but even though we know that they were originally grown as natural medicine, we probably don't know how to go about doing so for ourselves.

Although there are many different types of remedy, making natural remedies from herbs is easy enough. First you collect what you need, then you either store it for later use or follow simple steps to make the remedy you need. You don't need lots of expensive equipment: a kettle and a bottle to store your herbal medicine in once you've made it, perhaps. You might also need some muslin to make some items, or a pestle and mortar (or blender) to make powders. And that's pretty much it.

Herbal medicine isn't difficult. It's just something most people don't know how to do. You could be one of the first of your friends to be confident enough to make natural home remedies. Why fatten the wallets of the pharmacy companies when you can whip up a lotion for itchy skin, or an infusion for indigestion in 5 or 10 minutes?

For anyone interested in herbal remedies or how to survive (disaster preparedness) this book is a great reference.

I've been into herbal medicine and related things for many years, as well as organic gardening. If you've seen my sites about these subjects, you'll have seen the reasons why I got involved, all driven by life's events.

I've always loved cooking, and since my dad was a trained chef, I learned early on how to mix and match flavors, and the right way to do things. So when I found out I was gluten intolerant, the first thing I did was to gather together a bunch of recipes. Why not share them? I thought. So I did.

That explains my areas of interest, and my books. For the truth about the real me, you'll have to come over and share a cup of coffee...

I downloaded this and support the author because they're sincere, and a really helpful guide for anyone out that who may be falling victim to both the economic collapse, and the faltering health care system in the western world. For a lot of us, it's going to be about returning to our roots. We didn't make it through countless generations on pharmaceuticals, no, it was through the practice and execution of the things you'll discover and learn about in this ebook. From gardening, to herb identification, and medicinal use, this is a glimpse into what being a human really meant for tens of thousands of years. Nothing but the best for the author. Don't stop here, get another one out, on another aspect, soon!

In this well-written book you'll find sound advice about home remedies. I especially like the straight forward approach to Ms. Leach's subject and the organization of the book. Before reading I didn't know a lot about this subject, but with the author's help I feel as if I have a cornicopia of information.

We are all weary of pharmaceutical medication with their horrendous side-effects, including financial disability. I was thrilled to get this book expecting to find a detailed list of what herbs to use for what ailment. This book misses what I was looking for. However, the title clearly indicates it's about Home Remedies and "How to Make them". This title is open to misinterpretation. It should simply state "How to make Home remedies", and as such it is an excellent book, beautifully laid out. I hope there will be a sequel on what's for what.

Really enjoyed Volume 1, have everything set up and ready for volume 2 to come out. I like the way the author has separated it into 2 volumes, sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the instructions and end up not using the books as much as I'd hoped, but with this I can get better organised. Great, useful information. Thanks

Frann Leach is very knowledgeable about the collection and preparation of herbs. This short detailed guide is an excellent resource for the beginner who needs step by step instructions. The photos were helpful, also. I would like to know more about which herbs are used for what conditions. I look forward to the next volume.
