From Library Journal
Appropriately idiosyncratic (there is a minimalist title page and no table of contents, bibliography, index, or artist biographies), this bilingual Dutch/English exhibition catalog pays homage, in the centenary year of his birth, to Magritte's conceptual legacy through an ensemble of 200 works by 62 international artists. Four essays on the power of the Magrittian vision are followed by color plates of contemporary works selected for their perceived affinities to paintings by Magritte, which are unsuccessfully reproduced as faint monochrome thumbnails. In the catalog portion, paragraph-length statements by the artists explaining Magritte's inspiration sustain a hermetic dialog with the curators' statements.
