le réalisateur a su faire resortir le désaroi de roméo avant de connaitre juliette, les images sont magnifiques.ce film est émouvant, il sera touché nimporte qui, du moment que l'attention sur l'histoire soit total!c'est un film a voir!!! RIen à dire, envoi rapide, film lisible sans problème, emballage nickel. Excellente adaptation du célèbre Shakespeare. Passe de la violence à la douceur en une fraction de seconde. A voir absolument!

This adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is quite interesting by the shift into the golden boys of two golden families in Los Angeles or some place like it. Two family bands and their familiars : the colorful and rather flowery bunch of the Montagues, and the leathery and definitely tough and rough bullies of the Capulets. They use fire-arms like others would use toothpicks or candybars : they are their best bonbons of everyday life. The love affair is well known but the modern « signoria » is definitely interesting. The nobles have become the cops and the powerful have become the business traffickers and the politicians. The conflict becomes a real electronic game in which virtual reality is real life and everyone is running after the bad ones, that is to say the others, to prove that they can get to the point of life which is killing your opponents after terrorizing them for a while, to prove that they can get to the treasure chest of the others which is their women. Very virile, though Romeo and Mercutio are too sentimental to survive in such a world, maybe even too effeminate to cope with the masculine violence of this world. Very sentimental, though Juliet, Romeo, Mercutio and even the priest are condemned to die or bury the dead in a world where sentimentality is seen as a valueless romantic merchandize. It is an interesting commentary on modern wealthy society and the games their children have to invent in order to get some thrills where boredom and commercial reason are the only goods on the market. The police then can only count the dead and the skirmishes or even battles.
