Nothing New 26 août 2006
Par mearunner - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché
I was expecting more in-depth information on running injuries, but this booked contained less information than a lot of other general running books.

For example this morning I referenced the book on hamstring injuries, and the only information they had on hamstrings was on stretching.

Very disappointed in the content.

Great for beginners 23 mars 2011

I was a relatively new runner when I purchased this book. The information in this book helped me to fix some pains in my legs. It turns out I was doing too much downhill running. An experienced runner would know that this is a bad idea, but how was I suppose to know at the time? Common things like "don't increase speed and distance in the same day" are in this book. I can understand the complaints of the other people who say this book is nothing new; you are right, it isn't! But it helps newbies understand the things that experienced runners know as "common sense". If you are a new runner then you need this book.

Coming from an injured runner, this book is a MUST to prevent injuries 25 septembre 2009

I am newer to the sport of running and have taken it by storm! In fact, so much so, that I was overtraining and found myself with a stress fracture. While being "laid up" I decided to read up on injuries that occur while running and how to prevent them in the future. Man, I wish I had read this book months ago. I am sure I would have prevented this stress fracture had I read the book. It's a great overview of various injuries that can occur, but more so it is a practical guide on how to train so that you never experience an injury.

If your a running nut, keep this book close at hand because it's only a matter of time
before you will need it. It covers most common injurys including prevention and cure.

I keep this close simply because something is always rearing it's ugly head and making
me say ouch!

Good solid info 6 septembre 2012

A good quick reference for dealing with those nagging injuries you will probably get. Especially if your a seasonal style runner subjected to increasing your pace and distance when the weather gets nice! I am 55 and have experienced several of the running injuries described. The info is helpfull and accurate. I have been a pilot for a living for over 30 years and I completed my first ironman when I was 50. I have maintained a good health record and I hate going to the Dr. for anything besides my physical. This is a great source for people like me. I've read the reviews about this being for newbies... Accurate, but then even at my experience level I was a newbie to heel injuries and how to cope with them. I downloaded the kindle version and it is available as a reference anytime, even on the phone.
