Good pack overall, needs more zippers *UPDATE* 14 mars 2014

Taille: 5,30-3 L
UPDATE: 3/16/15
Everything is still holding up just fine. I purchased a magnet clip for it & it perfects the bag; the Source Tactical Gear Magnetic Tube Clip http://www.amazon.com/Source-Tactical-Gear-Magnetic-Black/dp/B007TJ5X8E. Fits the hose perfectly & has never come off the clip when I didn't want it to. The larger Hydrapak Blaster Bite Valve (http://www.amazon.com/Hydrapak-Blaster-Bite-Valve/dp/B00M19KFIA) is a large improvement over the original as well.
I have never turned the bladder inside out for cleaning as I don't want to have to rezip the inner piece again. I just throw it & the hose in the freezer when I am done with it. If it sits for awhile outside the freezer, I might swish a little bleach in before reusing.

Overall, the Reyes is a nicely sized pack with a highly rated bladder. It can be cinched down tightly if using only for water. Having stowed several small clothing items & snacks, with the bladder filled halfway (3L max), the pack disappeared on my back while riding rocky singletrack. I could hear the water sloshing but could not feel it.

The gear compartment has 2 identical sized velcro tab pockets near the top; below these you will find 1 larger (in width) velcro tab pocket & one through pocket/loop for a pump. There is also a key ring clip & a very small elastic pocket. Unfortunately, there are no internal zippered pockets to be found. I found my small items were falling out of the elastic compartment on the trail if I did not open the main compartment carefully (the pocket turns upside down when flap is opened). My phone, which is approximately 1/4" taller & wider than an iphone 4 is just slightly too tall for the velcro tabs to close & filled the width of the pocket. I was able to fit 2 pairs of sunglasses in the lower velcro pocket. I really don't understand the lack of zippered pockets inside, they cannot add much to the cost (if so, it would be worth it - although they would not be deep enough to zip closed for my use). In the main compartment I stowed a pair of armwarmers, thick shoe covers, skull cap, a thin long-sleeve compression shirt, lightweight polyester jacket, 3 granola bars & a ziploc of dried fruit with room for a little more. Again, after cinching all this down, the pack was largely unnoticeable. It wasn't bothersome on a 45-50 degree ride, but the back of my shirt (2 layers) was visibly sweaty when I took the pack off. On the outside, that top hook closes a stretchable pocket that runs the length of the bag. There is a small loop (reflective) to hang a light or something else on. The straps are well padded & include a chest strap & waist strap. I was unable to cinch the chest strap down as much as I would have liked, but I didn't have a problem with it moving around (as I said, I largely forgot about it until I needed a drink). The excess strapping is contained in fabric loops on the strap. It seems well made. On Hydrapak's website they have a video of loading up the bag.

The bladder has a fold over & zip closure that opens as wide as the bladder. The "Snap Zip Baffle" provides the ability to zip up for shape control (2L) or unzip for increased volume (3L). Mine came unzipped & was fairly difficult to zip up, but I managed & that is the way I have used it, so I cannot comment on water slosh at full volume. It can be turned inside out for quicker drying/cleaning. It also has its own separate padded zipper pocket on the bag. No worry about anything scratching or puncturing the bladder, although the bladder seems tough (I think Hydrapak has a video of them driving over the bladder & it doesn't explode or leak). They claim the pocket offers "360 degree reservoir insulation," but my ice cubes melted quite quickly (haven't even used in 70°+ yet), vs. a Camelbak chill bottle that keeps my water cold for hours (in 90° weather). Have not noticed any leakage from the hose/bladder connection nor the bite valve.

I was disappointed to find the pack I received (ordered elsewhere) did not have the highly touted "Quantum clip" (magnet for bite valve/tube) as it is stated to have but merely a plastic clip. On the trail it was not that much of an issue. I noticed little to no foul taste from the plastic. The bite valve/tube is not as freely flowing as I would like; I have to work harder to get water out of the bite valve vs. the jet valve on my camelbak bottle. Therefore, while you are already sucking air, you will be out of breath again after sucking water. However, I do not know how this compares to any others. It appears they have a new style valve (claim: highest flow on the market) that is shipping with all their current offerings, I may give it a try. *Given the price I paid ($40) I may have received an older model which could make these complaints irrelevant. If purchasing today, I would enquire about the magnet clip, bite valve style & interior pockets prior to buying.

Perfect size for me
Very comfortable
Large(3L), feature-rich bladder w/lifetime leak warranty
Hose clips in/out of bladder for easy fill/clean

Lack of zippered interior pockets
Short pockets
Lack of magnet clip (can purchase separately)
Bite valve flow (upgradable)

For $40 (sale price), this is a great pack with a highly rated bladder which allows me to grudgingly overlook the lack of interior zippers. At $50+, it becomes harder to overlook the lack of those & the magnet clip. Again, I do not know how this compares directly to others, aside from price & volume & it is certainly competitive in those regards. The bladder itself retails for $30 if you find a bag you like better.

highlighter green Reyes 9 septembre 2013
Par Stephen - Publié sur Amazon.com
Received the green Reyes right before my ride at the canyon. Quite the upgrade from my small BCG academy pack.
Pros: Start with the outside, very durable yet lightweight material. The straps are very comfortable and you don't really feel them or have to sit there and play with them to get them just right. Decent amount of space, fit wallet keys a full body co2 and 4 of the big co2 cartridges with plenty of room left over. And my Galaxy S4 with its huge Ballistic case fit pretty well in one of the pockets. Don't carry a bike pump but it had the sleeve for it. has external straps so when you don't fill it all the way you can tighten them to keep it smaller. The bladder is awesome, much easier when putting in ice or filling up with water than even the Camelbacks (IMO). it has some kind of zipper thing in the bladder to make it smaller (form fit) if not used it looks like a big rubber soda bottle. I didn't use it and the bladder still fit well in mine without any leaks even when I threw it around to "test" it for leaks. The snap system for the hydration hose is awesome, read a review that it was difficult to figure out but if you have somewhat of an idea of how packs work then you will be fine. Or watch Hydrapak's YouTube video. The little bite thing for drinking is of good quality and allows for maximum flow when your dying of thirst. Oh and the green color is AWESOME.

Cons: Only one, the advantage that camelback has is their Ventz system. Hydrapak doesnt have that and in the Texas summer it gets a little sweaty back there.

Other thoughts:
When filling the bladder for the first time try not to overfill it because it is difficult to judge initially. Will try to figure out the form thing eventually I bet its ok but I dont see the point in it. Was only out with it for a little over an hour so I could easily see this as being a 3 hour pack like it says and if you want buy a small 1 liter pack from Hydrapak and throw it in the bladder compartment Im sure it or a small energy drink bottle would fit with it. A good idea might be a frozen water bottle to keep your water cold then drink it when it thaws...

Overall its a great pack and the savings via Amazon Prime were awesome. Ordered it Wednesday and got it on Friday in time for Saturday's ride.
Great product for long walks or runs! 9 septembre 2014

Love it! What an upgrade from my 2L off brand pack. Took it on a 10-mile walk in the Texas summer heat and it did not disappoint! Plenty of room to hold snacks and my battery pack. Padded shoulder straps are very comfortable, no chafing anywhere. And with the chest/waist straps cinched tight, it's hardly noticeable when running, even loaded with water and gear. Super easy to remove the bladder and fill, and the mouthpiece locks, so no leaking. Even though it's overkill for my shorter walks, I still prefer this one... I like being prepared!

Works great so far after 2 months of heavy use. Holds all my gear plus plenty of water. Wish the buckles were regular buckles, but they have not failed.

Took this to the Grand Canyon in October. Plenty of water for a 4-5 hour hike. Little space to fit snacks, keys, phone. Lightweight and comfortable.
