Présentation de l'éditeur

Light meets dark. Secrets meet truth.

It's been three years, twenty-five weeks, and five days since Isis Blake fell in love, and if she has it her way, it'll stretch into infinity.

After a run-in with her mom’s ex-boyfriend, she scrabbles to remember what she’s lost to amnesia. Her ex-nemesis Jack falls deeper into a pit of despair, and his girlfriend Sophia does all she can to keep him to herself. But as Isis’ memories return, she finds it harder and harder to resist what she felt for Jack, and Jack finds it impossible to stay away from the only girl who’s ever melted the ice around his heart.

As the dark secrets surrounding Sophia emerge, Isis realizes Jack isn’t who she thought he was. He’s dangerous. But when Isis starts receiving terrifying emails from an anonymous source, that danger might be the only thing protecting her from something far more threatening.

Her past.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Even more secrets in this one! Great addition to the series 14 mars 2014

Savage Delight picks up right after Lovely Vicious left off. You need to read the first book or you will be confused as heck in this book. Isis is still in the hospital dealing with her memory loss after the events at the end of book 1. It instantly transported me back to how devastated I felt at the end of the first book because of everything that had happened between Isis and Jack.

All of the your favorite characters are back in this second installment, plus we get to see a lot more of Sophia. She becomes a main character with secrets of her own. Secrets are the name of the game in the Lovely Vicious series. Everyone has them, I thought we found out most of them in the first book. So not the case! There were lots more coming to the surface in Savage Delight. I didn't see some of them coming at all.

I so badly just wanted Isis and Jack to start off where they finally left off near the end of the first book, but they had a long way to go to get back to that. Plus there was the added complication of Sophia. I got the impression through the first book that she only liked Jack as a friend, but I started to see a whole new Sophia in this story. One that I wasn't sure how much I liked. I understand why she was how she was, but my perception of her changed.

The Lovely Vicious series is dark and wounded. These characters are so deeply flawed but they are able to find comfort in each other after all of these awful things happened. I loved that they each faced some of their fears in this book. And I loved how they stuck together. The ending was tragic and intense once again and it left us hanging, just like last time. I am so sad that there is only one book left in the trilogy, but I am so anxious to see how everything will wrap up. This is a really unique series. There is not anything quite like it out there that I have encountered. I love it.

Let me start by saying that once again the writing is superb. Isis is as brilliantly sarcastic as ever, as is Jack. The story flows well, and keeps you interested the whole time, BUT I guess I was hoping for more of Isis & Jack being together. I'm not even saying they had to be together as a couple(YET) I would of just been happy if they spent more time together. Alot of this book focuses on Isis recovering, Isis's relationship with Sophia, with her mom, with Kayla, etc....and for me just too little time with Jack. The banter, and the super dynamic relationship that Jack & Isis have is THE best part of these books, and there just was't enough of it for me especially since it was such a short book too. I hope we get more of Jack & Isis being together in the next installment because that's why I enjoyed the first one so much. Those two in a room talking about absolutely anything, trading barbs, being super witty & sarcastic is what so enamoured me to the first book, I hope to see much more of that in the next book.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 I savagely delighted in this book!!! 12 mars 2014

This review will contain spoilers for those of you who haven't read lovely vicious! Just a heads up peeps! Also...I'm highly caffeinated so I apologize for the rambling!

Ok so savage delight picks up right where we left off in LV. Isis is still in the hospital recovering from her head trauma and she has befriended Sophia who is Fifty shades of cray cray. I guess I should be fair here. Everyone is going off on Sophia about how crazy she is, but wouldn't you be? I mean what we found out in LV was seriously the tip of the iceberg. You'll find out some bomb.coms in this one fo sho. Juuuust wait. All in all, yes she's a little looney tunes and manipulative, but if I feel anything for her its just profound sadness and empathy for her pain and loss.

Now what's going to get under a lot of people skins, more so than the Sophia arc, is where we go with Jack and Isis. Y'all its basically right back to the beginning for them and it suuuuuucks because Jack still remembers everything and his previously cold, dead heart remembers what its like to feel something and we the readers are all "ermahgerd all the feeeels!" It's pretty dark throughout the novel. And if there are any Bronte fans, there are some HEAVY allusions to Jane Eyre. Or at least Nadia and I saw them. Like for real. I'm pretty sure if you read Jane Eyre, I just spoiler alerted something, but you know what, my well read Trotters? I'm sorry, still read it!

Isis is still amazing. Her character doesn't grow in SD as much as her history is revealed. That's right, Trotter Lotter Potter Totters!!! We get a slight (because Isis is more closed off that Fort Knox) glimpse of what happened with Nameless. Let's just say that running from your past doesn't mean you've dealt with your issues, it only temporarily puts distance between you until it can catch up. But it will always catch up. I was very pleased with book 2. Of course I could have used more Jack and Isis action because who couldn't? There is a cliffhanger and this one is a thousand times more of a zinger than book 1's. I'm warning you! If you are a cliffhanger hater, try to hold off reading this as long as possible. Wait until you get closer to book 3's pub date because this book rocks and it deserves awesome ratings and shouldn't get penalized for its ending. Yes, cliffhangers universally SUCK, but what is she going to do? Sell us a 900 pg book? Come onnnnn. Titillation can be fun. Just imagine Jack titillating you and then go have yourself forty rereads! We'll commiserate together :) Fully recommended. Go read and be happy...and TITillated. *Cheeeeky*

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Words can't explain ... 14 février 2014
Par Kmac - Publié sur
You have got to be kidding me! All the time. All the time Sara Wolf, all the time! Sighz ... yup! It's another profanity cursing cliffhanger ending. It was almost predictable this time, but it still left us in the middle of a big life altering situation. As to where we are going and the so called happy ending, I can't see it! o.O

On the bright side, we learnt a lot more about Isis, Nameless, Sophia and Jack. Everyone else is utterly confusing and I don't see the need to even try, so I don't bother. This story is churning in a blender with a million situations, outcomes and characters. It's one big mess and I can't see it all straightening in one book.

Isis continues to be her crazy self and that's putting lightly. However, we finally get to see what lays beyond the sarcasm, wit and random acts of craziness. She is old enough to sleep over with a guy and be the crutch her mother needs, but her personality is that of a twelve year old. I will never understand that.

This story will annoy you. Especially if you don't read it in one sitting. The characters are immature and the conversations are petty, confusing and random. There is though, many moments of laughter, clarity and deep seeded issues that occasionally appear more mature, than the intended age group.

The revelations are very anti climatic and the major shockers continue to be the literal ending. I truly don't understand half of what I just read, so I left this novel more confused when I began. I do know though, that I liked it enough, to want to read the next. I love the characters of Jack and Isis but Knife guy will forever have my heart :)

We got Jack's POV this go. Sporadic as it was, it had it's moments of clarity also, when it wasn't repeating the exact thing that we read before. It is hard to explain, but the most annoying traits of these characters is what draws you to them in the first place.

Jack is a thick block of ice but I love when he describes his feelings for or towards Isis. Isis is annoying, plain and simple, but her witty comments and comebacks help to keep this twisted, confusing novel afloat. Each character play their roles well, but I still can't put together the pieces of the puzzles that is this story.

We finally spend some time with Sophia, but don't expect much on that front either. The chick is coo coo crazy and I don't see what every one else does in her. A part from her being the block between Jack and Isis, the girl is pure evil and quite the manipulator. Her act at the end of this book, I believe was strategically done, to make the rift even bigger between Isis and Jack.

This is a dark, twisted tale of high school kids who behave like 30 year olds with major Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys complexes. Nothing is what it seems and revelations are revealed in the blink of an eye without any build or release at the end. It's a cluster of everything that's crazy and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I liked the first book. This one is ok too, but I read something that another reviewer wrote, and I fully agreed. While Isis is as funny and as witty as ever, she has the maturity of a 12 year old. Hardly what I want to read, when thinking I'm going to get a romance. But sadly, her maturity ruined it for me. In all honesty, I would rather Jack be with someone else now. Sorry Isis.

Was an ok read. Dunno if I'll buy the third one.
