Six Moon Summer
This is a great start to the series! I have to admit, some parts of the book were pretty predictable, such as the werewolf's true identity, but even with the predictability, this was a fun and action packed read.
I really enjoyed Rylie and Seth as characters. Such a star-crossed love! The wolf and the hunter. I really like this dynamic.
One complaint I was going to make was that the book seemed so short! When I finished, I wondered if it was a novella, I read it so quickly, but then I looked at the page length and realized that I was wrong. It's a full length book at nearly 200 pages, but I was so into the book that I read it very quickly.
Again, a great start to the series! I'm so glad I have the entire series so I can eat it up. I can't wait to start book two!
All Hallows Moon
Wow! Here I thought my mama was a pain in the butt, but she has nothing on Eleanor! This is a great sequel to the first book where Seth has to choose sides between the girl he's falling in love with and his hunter family.
Just like the first book, this is a fast and action packed read. I wasn't able to put it down, reading it in a single sitting. My only complaint is that I wish there was a little bit more lore behind the All Hallows Moon, but even without the lore, it was a great read. I just feel that adding some lore would put these books into an amazing place.
Fun read, definitely recommended.
Long Night Moon
This is another great installment of the series! So far this series reads like a single book, even though it consists of four total. I really enjoyed this installment more than the others so far for the mere fact that this installment showed more of Rylie's animalistic side. So far, Rylie's showing some alpha tendencies, willing to fight anyone that comes near her territory. Before this installment, I was starting to think the transition was going a bit too smoothly for Rylie. It showed so much of her human side! I'm very glad that this book evened out the score, showing her animal instinct.
I also enjoyed the addition of silver poisoning. I felt that this was a very interesting ailment that I foresee being important further into the series. I'm definitely looking forward to completing the last book!
Gray Moon Rising
Although this is a great ending to the original series, I'm very glad the author decided to continue on with Rylie and Seth's story with the Cain Chronicles. Normally while I'm reading a series, I always end up rooting for the man that first enters the scene, but I can't help but feel that Seth might not be the best match for Rylie. Abel seems like a pretty good match for Rylie, in my opinion!
Once again, Eleanor proved that she is beyond a doubt the craziest mother in the history of crazy mothers. Maybe I'm just a bleeding heart, but I doubt that there's much of anything that my son could do that would make me want to kill him! Even if he turned fuzzy, which would suck since I'm allergic to dogs.
To me, the most appealing aspect of this book was the fact that Rylie returned to the site of her wolf creation. I just felt that it was a great place to end, right where the entire mess began.
Great conclusion, but definitely left me wanting more!
