Not bad at all. This quick book emphasises two very important things.
First, KNOW what you want to say right down to the last adjective and verb. This means defining your offering so clearly that even someone not really paying attention could understand.
Secondly, BE ready to use what you have developed in the Firstly to create a vision of the benefits any listener will be keen on getting. And seize every opportunity to speak about these during any conversation with prospects.
Be prepared to say them, to write them, to be enthusiastic about them.
Be there and show how clear, beneficial and easy it will be to work with you.

Par Shane Kester - Publié sur Amazon.com
This book was recommended by a friend. I was kind of annoyed to have to read it. Days later when I was accepting a two month freelance contract I used a recommendation to simply ask for something more. The "theory" is you might just get it. I already had the contract but I simply asked if they could bump it up to the next pay grade. She looked into it and voila! My $7.00 book made me another $2,500 in the same week I got it. I wouldn't have asked had I not been reading the book that week, I hadn't even finished it.
I implemented the 60 sell and other techniques to get other job offers as well. The book is very practical in telling you how to prepare as well as telling you what to avoid like the plague. It all seems like common sense after you read it but I guess common sense goes out the window in job interviews. I wish I had this book when I was still at university; it would have helped me from the beginning.
You only have a few seconds to make a great impression. I highly recommend this book.

I purchased an older edition before having an interview with an employer located in the one place in the country I had been wanting to move to for years.

I used the techniques explained in this book. The series of same-day interviews with the different panels went great. By pure chance I was the last person they interviewed that day, they asked me to step outside for a couple of minutes, they called me back and I was offered the job on the spot.

I have given this book to a couple of friends who were also interviewing for jobs. They both got the jobs they interviewed for.

I am not claiming that this book is magical, but it definitely teaches you how to interview correctly.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Great book if you are unemployed! 26 mars 2009

This book came recommended to me by a career transistion coach after I found myself unexpectantly unemployed. I haven't had to interview in over 20 years and felt rusty. It was easy to read and would give candidates a leg up on difficult interview questions. I loved that it told you exactly what to say. And, it has you prepare your 60 second commercial to repeat several times during the interview process. It is highly recommended for those out there job searching that don't have their interview skills up to date.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Especially useful for dealing with the uncomfortable questions you'll be asked 25 février 2010
Par Laura K. Soule - Publié sur Amazon.com
This is one of the most useful and fun books I've found on the subject of interviewing. It provides techniques on how you can continually steer the direction of the interview in your favor, by reiterating your top four or five attributes that make you the best person for the job.

The book talks you through a substantial list of challenging questions you may be asked, from the expected ("Describe a mistake you made at your last job") to the strange ("So, tell me your favorite joke.") The authors provide excellent suggestions on how to respond tactfully while playing up your strengths.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 It worked!!! 4 mai 2012

I read this book before my interview, and I got the job! That sounds so simple, but believe me, I struggled for years. Between my decision to stay home and raise my children beginning in the early 90s and the current Global Financial Crisis, reentering the workforce has been incredibly difficult for me. The best I've been able to do was to be hired as a temp at my local county government's offices for the past 2 years, but I only work 3 days a week and have no benefits. I really love the place I work, but the hiring process is brutal; for each regular, full-time opening, there is a 2-hour skills assessment test after which the top candidates are granted oral interviews. There are often hundreds of qualified applicants for each position, and only 5 will make it to the final interview for each position. I've always done very well on the assessment tests, I'm very well educated, proficient in most common workplace software, and I have a lot of experience, but I could not get past the face-to-face interviews.

A co-worker loaned me her copy of "60-Seconds and You're Hired", telling me that she'd read the book the day before she was hired for her current position. I knew I had to do something to improve my interviewing technique, so I read the book before my last interview, which was about 10 days ago. I treated the interview like a homework assignment. I researched the department by reading their newsletters and mission statement, searched online and found videos and news stories about the department, and asked questions of everyone I could think of. I prepared a list of my best attributes and memorized it.

The interview went so much more smoothly than any interview I've ever had, and I've been working since the mid 1970s. The first question they asked me was what I knew about their department - my research really paid off! For me, the analysis of sample interview questions was one of the most useful things about this book. It gave me insight into behavioral interview questions that had never occurred to me. I've read some of the negative interviews of this book. The writing style could be better, but in the end, the information contained in this book makes it literally worth its weight in gold.

If you are qualified for a position and follow this book to help you with the interview process, you will be hired. Happy hunting!!!
