5.0 étoiles sur 5 Beautifully Written and Such an Amazing Conclusion to an Awesome Series 2 novembre 2013

I just finished Sentinel and am still trying to process what I just read. There were so many hilarious moments that sent me into uncontrollable laughing fits. There were also very touching and emotional moments that had me bawling like a baby. *Slight Spoilers Ahead* Okay, the ending was surprising, not the one I wanted but even better. It was far less upsetting than the ending Allegiant (You will understand what I mean once you have read it). There is a lot of death but also redemption and forgiveness. It is action-packed and had plenty of steamy scenes. Aiden is even more swoon-worthy than ever. Overall, it was a very satisfying and beautiful ending to an amazing series. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 The perfect ending to a fabulous series 1 décembre 2013

6 stars! Holy wow, what an ending.

Of course this book made me blubber like a baby. Part of that is because I'm just a crier in general, but also because I had just finished a trilogy with a very unhappy ending, and I was scared that this book was going to break my heart just like that one.

I'm not sure I can put into words how much I loved this series and this book in particular. I laughed, I cried, I snorted, and I even caught myself doing the whole "oh snap" thing with my fingers a few times. There were so many twists and turns, and I really had no idea how it was going to end.

It's so bittersweet for this series to be over. I have loved these characters very much and enjoyed every minute of laughing and crying with them. What a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series. Kudos to you, Jennifer Armentrout!

First of all, I have to say this book moved along at a much nicer rate than "Apollyon." Where book #4 seemed repetitive and dragging for the first 50%, "Sentinel," seemed to fly (perhaps that's just the fact it's the last book in the series and I knew it). So, the pacing was an improvement until...you get to the end. The ending felt rushed and sort of...anticlimactic I guess. (Again, possibly because it's the last in the series.)

I still enjoyed "Sentinel," and I recommend the series to anyone interesting the YA/NA paranormal/fantasy genre.

Ok, things that really bothered me about me this book and kept me from giving it 5 stars.

*******************************Spoilers*******************

***********************Fair warning, Spoilers ahead***************

So the breed order is suppose to be changed right? But the question is never addressed about how that's going to create more apollyons. I mean wasn't that a huge plot line (or did I make that up in my own head?), that an apollyon could only be created when a pure and a half had a child? So how the heck is the whole breed order thing just completely looked over in the last book? This really annoyed me, I kept reading the last chapter thinking she was going to address this, but it's never mentioned that I remember.

The ending just wrapped too many other little things in a neat nifty package with a bow on top without really explaining anything in my mind. I still had so many questions when the book was finished. So I'm thinking A) she's going to continue the story line with other characters? or B) she didn't know how to fix the problems she'd erected for herself so she just ignored them.

All in all, I'm happy with the way things ended for Alex and Aiden (if not necessarily happy with the questions I still have).

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Perfect series, with a perfect end! 20 novembre 2013

If you have NOT read Half-Blood, Pure, Deity or Apollyon, please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .

I love Seth, I love him so much. I know everyone else is on the Aiden train and I get that but dammit, you can't change my mind. Unless you threw Caleb in to the mix then we might have some issues but this shouldn't be surprising to anyone who knows me and what characters I tend to lean toward. Aiden is amazing, do not get me wrong, he is beyond amazing; perfect even, as Alex describes him as that many times. I agree. He's the guy every girl wants to bring home to momma and he's perfect for Alex in so many ways but you can't tell me, while reading a book, that you don't feel a connection to a certain character, right? That if these characters were real (and maybe they were a little older) you would find yourself drawn to a certain type. I'd be having an internal battle over Seth and Caleb.

This book was just . . . I read it slow because I wanted to savor it. I read this series so quick (in a week, including the novellas) and it just came and went too fast for my liking. So I slowed down, let it settle in and then read some more, let that sink in and so forth. Once I got to a certain point I couldn't put it down, though. So many emotions but one thing I can say without spoiling it was that this was a fantastic way to end a series. Maybe not the best I've read but it was damn good. I had many tears fall but overall, I was really happy with everything and everyone. Well . . . mostly everyone.

You know it's a good series when you suffer one of those book hangovers. You're staring at your bookshelves with all those books that need to read but you just can't find one. What you want to do is pick up the series from the beginning and read it all over again. That's what I want to right now but I won't.

So many characters I loved in this series and so many more that I respected so much. The entire group that formed with Alex (including Deacon, Luke, Lea, Olivia, Solos, Marcus, Aiden) - I love them. I really love Apollo, though. He's now become my favorite god because of this series! Hades ain't so bad, either . . . he's a bit of a hot head though! ;)

If you want to see a series that is not only amazing but concluded in the way a series should, this is definitely one you want to read. It had many sexy scenes, many, many laughs, many tears, many battles, but lots of kicking ass. I can't praise this series enough and I'm glad I read it. And not having to wait was awesome so now if you haven't started this series, you don't have to wait either. Get out there and read it. I've never laughed so much while reading a series - laughing while reading is good and not common enough so eat it up.

I loved this book. Absolutely breathtaking. There are really no words to describe this book to whoever is reading this. I cried like crazy but the ending was fantastic!
