Présentation de l'éditeur

Cassidy Jordan knows she'll die a few weeks after her eighteenth birthday, and she can't wait. This is her second time here, and she knows what's waiting for her in The Life-After — the place most mistakenly call "the afterlife." Getting back there is supposed to be easy: she just has to find nineteen-year-old Riley Davis and help him get his life on track. But doing that isn't easy at all.

By the time Cassidy finds Riley, she has only seven weeks to help him before her time is up. Riley will die too young if she fails, and she'll never see The Life-After or have another chance at life again. But no one told her helping Riley would mean dating him; she hasn't dated anyone since the love of her first life caused her death the last time she turned eighteen. And no one warned her she'd cross paths with Selena Jensen, her ex-best-friend who hasn't forgotten why their friendship ended and is protective of Riley. Then there's Cassidy's family, who thinks she's a normal girl headed to Harvard in the fall. When her aunt discovers that's not the plan, she shows up to try and drag Cassidy from L.A. to Boston.

Helping Riley is already hard with her aunt and Selena in the way. It's almost impossible when Cassidy realizes she's falling for him and is faced with a choice: give Riley the life he's meant for and leave when it's time, or give up eternity for the true love she's never had, knowing Riley will die the same way she did in her first life and that her entire existence could end at any time.

What readers are saying about SEVEN WEEKS TO FOREVER:

"This is a great book... I couldn't put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen and what decisions Cassidy was going to make." -Reading in Black and White

"There is a roller coaster of emotions through the story which Farwell portrays beautifully - from first love to fear. I couldn't wait to reach the end to find out Cassidy's decision to the ultimate choice - give Riley the full life he was destined for, or fight for even a small amount of the true love she never had and risk losing Riley too soon." -A Novel Thought

"Overall, I definitely recommend picking up this novel. It's a great YA worth reading and has both character growth and romance. If you're looking for a good contemporary read with a little bit of paranormal, I'd definitely add this to your TBR pile or bookshelf!" -PopCrunchBoom

"I really liked this book overall. I found the writing (& editing!) solid, the story engaging, the main characters likeable, some of the conversation to be infused with great humor. It made me care." -Goodreads review

"This book reminds you that often times in love and life you have to make choices and sacrifices, but there isn't much that is more powerful than first love." -Amazon review

As I finished reading this book yesterday I was faced with a major panic how on earth was I going to get across to my readers all that makes this book so good. It is a love story which is easy enough to convey but it also deals with the after life and the consequences of our actions, and this is what I need to tell you about today.

Seven Weeks to Forever is first of all a gorgeous looking book, I was lucky enough to receive an actual physical copy, the cover was gorgeous and I know it sounds daft but the book feels nice too, so big thumbs up for the paper that makes it up!!

Anyway I need to concentrate on the inside!, the book is told from the POV of Cassidy Jordan, seventeen at the beginning of the book, recently moved to LA, she has seven weeks to live, she will die a few weeks after her eighteenth birthday, she is not scared, she has been expecting this.

Cassidy has been here before and she has been sent back from The Life After (what we know as the afterlife) to help a young man find his way after tragedy has struck him, that young man is Riley Davis and for the next seven weeks it is up to her to make him start living his life, if she fails Riley will die far too young and she will lose her right to return to the Life After, the only problem she has no idea how to turn his life around.

Cassidy and Riley's first encounters start off almost by fate as he comes to her rescue one night and they meet again shortly after in a record store, they seem drawn to one another and they are soon getting to know one another a lot better.

There is no way I can describe this book perfectly without giving away a lot of spoilers and I hate spoilers, I haven't read the third book in a huge recently at the cinema trilogy because I accidentally read a spoiler in a review which just literally spoiled the whole thing for me.

Seven Weeks to Forever is such a great read what I can say about the rest of the book is this, Cassidy know she has to get Riley back on the right path and when she does he will live a long life and she will return to the Life After however a problem arises, actually a couple of problems, the first is the reintroduction of Cassidy's ex-best friend Selena who is not happy to see Cassidy at all, the second? Well Cassidy did not think she would start fall for Riley and as she helps him she knows that she is going to lose him in order to help him.

It is a great read, I haven't done it justice here at all! But I hope this is enough of a taste for you to go and try it for yourself!

Seven Weeks to Forever is awarded 5 out of 5

Sometimes I will read a book, hear a song, see a move that resonants deep within me. The message in the book, song, movie may be new to me or not. Either way the timing of it is perfect. I suffer with chronic genetic depression. Sure I take my meds. and live a full life within the natural boundaries of my disability. But sometimes I'll catch myself thinking that my husband would be happier if we lived apart from each other which is so not true.
We've have had 12 years together with the great moments far out numbering the bad.
I highlighted a few passages in the book to save and have put the book in my keep collection for those moments when I need remindng to love and be loved without fear.
Perhaps some will think that a book review should be just that,a book review and thats ok. For me personally I find I sometimes need to write a review from a personal emotional point of view.
As for the authors style of writing and storytelling I liked it so much that I just downloaded her other book.

Cassidy Jordan has met a pretty fantastic guy named Riley. Teen romance at it's finest, right? Wrong. Cassidy has a mission to accomplish - She actually is trying to get back to The Life-After and saving Riley is the mission that she is tasked with. She has a deadline and a witty guide, Noah, who sometimes provides help when he isn't providing Cassidy with more questions than answers, to lead her, but the heart is not always fond of schedules. The author has crafted a beautiful story of love, faith, and hope. Well developed characters that tug at your heart every step of the way as pasts are revealed and Cassidy questions whether she can ultimately fall in love with Riley, allow him to fall in love with her, and then devastate him when she leaves. As the reason behind the mysterious feathers that appear frequently throughout the book is revealed, you will be on the edge of your seat with hope for Cassidy to get her happily ever after. A strong sophomore novel from Jennifer Farwell, who clearly has a talent for bringing her characters to life and leave you hoping for more to come from her soon.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A great look at life, love & death with a strong main character! 29 juillet 2014

Seven Weeks to Forever by Jennifer Farwell follows Cassidy, a newly high-school graduate spending the summer in LA before going to college at Harvard in the fall. Well, at least that’s what her Aunt & Uncle think she’s doing. In reality, Cassidy is a second-timer sent back to “The Before” in order to help someone so that she can return to “The Life-After.” Riley, her assignment, is a nineteen-year-old boy Cassidy finally finds with seven weeks left to save him. Cassidy has to get his life back on track in order to save him from dying too young and for her to return to the “Life-After.” She just never realized that would entail having to date him. Cassidy hasn’t dated anyone since the love of her first life caused her death the last time she turned eighteen.

On top of that, Cassidy also has a run in with her ex-best-friend, Selena Jensen. Selena hasn’t forgotten their past and is protective of Riley. Plus, Cassidy has to also deal with her Aunt & Uncle once they find out that she isn’t going to Harvard in the fall. They have no idea that Cassidy isn’t a normal college-bound girl.

But the biggest obstacle Cassidy faces is the fact that she’s falling for Riley and is now faced with a choice: give Riley the life he’s meant for and leave when it’s time or give up eternity for the true love she’s never had, knowing Riley will die the same way she did in her first life and that her entire existence could end at any time.

What will she choose?

What I really enjoyed about this novel the most is the overall them of love. Interwoven themes of death, vulnerability, and growth also appear throughout the novel, but the focus of love overcoming many obstacles is what I really enjoyed reading about. Cassidy has a lot of decisions to make throughout the novel. Some decisions are not just life-altering for her, but also for Riley. Seeing how love played a part in some of these decisions as well as in the growth and characterization of Cassidy was not only enjoyable, but thought-provoking as well.

Cassidy has a lot to learn during her second time back. She has closed herself off to making connections with people because of her heartbreak in her first life as well as the knowledge that she’ll be leaving for the “Life-After” soon. When she meets Riley she’s a little blindsided that she likes him and it’s so great to watch their relationship develop. Cassidy grows a lot in this novel and I always enjoy great characterization and growth in any novel ;)

I also enjoyed how “fate” seemed to play a role in this novel. Like some things were meant to happen or how once decision can lead to certain outcomes: Cassidy running into Riley for the second time. Of course Cassidy and “fate” had some help from Noah and the mysterious white feather leaving being, but it was still cool to watch this concept and theme play out within the novel. I’m a huge believer in Karma and fate, so it was great to see something similar play out within a story.

The secondary characters within Seven Weeks to Forever also played some key roles. Noah, Selena, and David all play a role in Cassidy’s mission and decisions. Noah was definitely a favorite of mine :) Strong secondary characters aren’t always present in a novel and I feel like Farwell did a great job of writing hers.

Overall, I definitely recommend picking up this novel. It’s a great YA worth reading and has both character growth and romance. If you’re looking for a good contemporary read with a little bit of paranormal, I’d definitely add this to your TBR pile or bookshelf!

Happy Reading!
