Présentation de l'éditeur

The sequel to The Flyer, and the second book in the Pitsford Series, is a story of love, passion and tragedy that moves from England to the Hollywood movie colony during the 1920’s, a period when the glamour and excitement of the flapper era was taking hold.
We Should Dance brings back the three friends who were caught in a tangled love triangle in The Flyer, and as their lives and fates continue to be bound together, introduces fascinating and colorful new characters.
In Illinois, a young girl dreams of leaving her impoverished home and becoming an actress in the movies, and when a biplane piloted by a young stunt-flyer lands in the field outside her house, Mona Curtiss knows that her life is about to change forever.
The heady days at the beginning of the Golden Age of Hollywood are blended with the excitement and romanticism of barnstorming in this story where passion and love clashes with ambition and rivalry, propelling the cast of characters towards their eventual, inevitable destinies

I liked "The Flyer" (the first book in this series) very much. The characters drew me in and I wanted to know what happened next in their story. "We Should Dance" really let me down. The graphic sex scenes and foul language ruined my enjoyment of this book. Had it not been for that, I would have given this book a higher rating. As it stands, I doubt I will get the next book.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Continuation of The Flyer, but not quite as good 11 juin 2014

I really loved The Flyer, the first book in the Pitford series and I enjoyed this one too. I felt like this was well done, but I didn't like the characters nearly as much as the ones in the first book. Even though there are several that carry over from the first book, I was not as engaged with them in this book as I was in the first one. The ending is really a lead in to the next book, which is fine, but I have read other series that did that and then the next book never came out, so I am hoping to see the third one soon. At any rate, I think this one is a nice midpoint book in a trilogy, but I don't think it was quite as good as the first one. Hopefully, the third book will make me love the characters in it as much as I did the ones in the first book.

'We Should Dance' is the sequel to 'The Flyer', Stuart Harrison's novel about the lives and tragedies of Aviator pioneers and how they fared in the First World War. This story takes up after the and of the war, and charts the fortunes of the same characters into the 1920s. The book is fast-paced, well-written, and exciting. It sets the characters against the background of the rebuilding of England, and the early rise of Hollywood. I really enjoyed the book, loved the wealth of detail and the development of the characters. I can't wait for the next episode in the saga!

I loved The Flyer and was excited to read this book 2 in the series. Such a sorry departure from book 1. The explicit sex scenes seemed completely out of place. I would have recommended The Flyer to friends and family, but can't do that now that I've read book 2. Greatly disappointed.

After reading the first in the Pitford series I continued with this book. Both were a sweet change of pace from my normal thriller genre.
What I'm really feeling is disgust.
Not about the story but about the lack of proof reading.
There were so many words left out I lost count.
Seems to me the author doesn't care enough about his 'craft' or his audience to take pride presenting a truly quality book.
Sad.
